Indian Billionaire Gautam Adani Comes Under New Scrutiny from U.S. Prosecutors
Gautam Adani, Asia's second-richest man, is trying to get the Trump administration to drop foreign bribery charges against him. Instead, he is facing a new front in his fight with prosecutors: a probe into whether his companies are buying Iranian petrochemical products. Goldman Letter Helps Sway Judge Who Sent Leissner to Prison
Former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker Tim Leissner didn't think he should go to prison for his role in the looting of the Malaysian investment fund 1MDB. Neither did US prosecutors, who praised his cooperation with their investigation. She sentenced the former banker to two years in prison Thursday, saying that without Leissner, the massive fraud may never have happened.
