Karachi Kings piled on an imposing 204 for 4 in their 20 overs after electing to bat first against Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday. English batter James Vince anchored the innings with a composed 65 not out off 45 deliveries, hitting five fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 144.44. He was well supported in the latter stages by Khushdil Shah, who smashed a blistering 33 not out off just 13 balls, including two fours and three sixes, finishing with a strike rate of 253.84. Earlier, openers Tim Seifert and David Warner gave Karachi a fiery start. Seifert struck 22 off 11 before falling to Ubaid Shah, while captain Warner hit a quickfire 30 from 13 balls, clearing the ropes twice and finding the boundary four times. However, Karachi lost some momentum in the middle overs. After getting Billings' wicket, Shah got a little too excited as he accidentally smacked his teammate and wicket-keeper, Usman Khan, amid celebrations. The keeper was down for a moment, and the blow he copped did not cost them much in the end. The celebration looked similar to the WWE superstar, Roman Reigns' signature move, the Superman Punch. Even the Multan team members were seen laughing at the hilarious turn of events while Ubaid was shocked by what went down as he eventually ended up apologising to his teammate. Their win was set up by Yasir Khan, who scored a blistering 87 in 44 balls laced with six boundaries and as many maximums, along with a quickfire 40 by Iftikhar Ahmed to power the Multan-based franchise to 228 runs in the first innings. For the Lahore Qalandars, it was Sikandar Raza who proved to be the shining light as the side struggled to find partnerships in the top order.
