Mangaluru: Several people have condemned the
Pahalgam terror attack
, where at least 26 people, including two foreign tourists, were killed by a group of terrorists.
"I am deeply pained and enraged by the cowardly terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Families from across Bharat have lost their loved ones. This is not just an attack on a place or a group—it is an attack on every Indian home," said MP Captain Brijesh Chowta.
Mangaluru City North MLA Y Bharath Shetty said that the time has come to eliminate terrorists both inside and outside the country. The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, is a challenge to humanity, he said.
Udupi Catholic Diocese Bishop Rev Gerald Isaac Lobo has strongly condemned the terrorist attack and expressed deep condolences for the
loss of innocent lives
. He said such acts of violence are utterly inhumane and have no place in a society that seeks justice, dignity, and peace for all. In moments like these, we are reminded of our shared humanity. "Regardless of background, belief, or identity, every life is precious. The loss of life through violence is a wound to our collective conscience," he said.

Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) district president BK Imthiyaz said that the central govt must ensure that the criminals who carried out this heinous attack on innocent lives are severely punished. It must also take steps toward a solution for the issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
Dharmasthala Dharmadikari D Veerendra Heggade said that targeting innocents on basis of religion is unacceptable. "We are deeply saddened by this incident. I urge the govt to take immediate and appropriate action," he said.
