UK security officials are probing if Russia could be involved in three arson attacks related to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to the Financial Times. Two Ukrainian and one Romanian man have been charged with conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life, the Metropolitan Police said this month. UK officials are probing if the trio were recruited by Russian actors to start the fires, the FT reported, citing unidentified Whitehall sources. The three men have been charged with criminal, as opposed to national security offenses. Many different versions of what happened are under investigation and nothing has been ruled out at this point, the newspaper added, citing one government official. The charges relate to a fire at the entrance of a residential property owned by Starmer in the early hours of May 12, another blaze at a property linked to the premier a day earlier, and a vehicle fire that took place the previous week.
