PHOTOS: Stubbs Park to reopen in time for summer festivities
CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) — After over a year of renovations, Stubbs Park in Centerville is nearly ready to reopen.
Stubbs Park initially closed in March 2024 to undergo major renovations, including new pavement, improving the amphitheater bowl, putting in more accessible handicap seating and new landscaping.
The concession stand and restrooms also received a major overhaul.
The park will reopen in just a few weeks, and the city of Centerville is excited to show off the improvements, especially the modernized accessibility.
''We have paved over two miles of accessible paths so that parkgoers of all abilities can enjoy the park's recreational opportunities,' said Joey O'Brien, Centerville economic development administrator. 'It's obviously very important. An extreme focus of the city has been becoming more accessible to parkgoers of all abilities, and Stubbs is a major facet of that.'
