Floyd Shivambu talks past, present and future
JOHANNESBURG - Former UmKhonto WeSizwe Party General Secretary Floyd Shivambu, wants South Africans to tell him if the country needs another political party.
Shivambu has been deployed to parliament after being axed as SG, but his scathing attack on the party could prove to be end of that relationship.
Shivambu has made it clear he is not leaving the MKP despite his demotion from SG to ordinary member. Speaking at a media briefing in Midrand on Thursday last week, Shivambu said he would not be joining the ANC or the EFF, which he strongly criticised.
Despite the fallout, Shivambu expressed unwavering support for the party and its founder and president, Jacob Zuma. But the former EFF leader also didn't hold back in his remarks about the EFF.
"Some said I should never rejoin EFF because it is a cult and I agree. There is no room for sound ideological reasoning there," Shivambu explained.
