Today's top TV and streaming picks: A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Brave New World and The Doorman
Mark Moriarty: Cook Like a Chef RTÉ One, 8pm On the menu tonight is a slow-roast pork belly with crispy roast potatoes and a fennel and orange salad. Then it's on to something sweet – an Amalfi-inspired lemon, olive oil and pistachio cake served with cool yoghurt. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder RTÉ2, 9pm Against her better judgement, Pip seeks out a calamity party with hopes of tracking down the drug dealer Max told her about. Uncharted with Ray Goggins RTÉ One, 9.35pm Paralympian Ellen Keane and Camogie star Ashling Thompson travel to Bolivia where they meet Ray and embark on a seven-day challenge. It involves negotiating raging rivers, trekking through wild jungle and traversing glaciers and snowfields. The Doorman Channel 4, 2.40am Ruby Rose stars as a former US marine sergeant working as a guard in a New York apartment building about to undergo renovations. With most of the tenants having moved out, ruthless art thief Victor Dubois (Jean Reno) moves in, believing that something valuable is hidden there. Brave New World Disney+, streaming now Meeting newly elected President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Captain America/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) must race against time to uncover a sinister plot before the world plunges into chaos. F1: The Academy Netflix, streaming now In the struggle to reinstate a female driver on the Formula 1 grid, 15 young women are pushing the envelope. For similar viewing, but dramatised, we have Gran Turismo, which landed yesterday on Netflix, while Motorheads is now available via Prime Video. Cold Case: The Tylenol Murders Netflix, streaming now Chicago, 1982. Several cyanide-laced Tylenol capsules randomly resulted in at least seven deaths. Understandably, it ignited a countrywide panic in the United States, leading to one of the biggest criminal investigations in the nation's history. This striking documentary, from executive producer Joe Berlinger (Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes) and directors Yotam Guendelman and Ari Pines (Shadow of Truth, Buried), revisits the terrifying crime that destroyed the country's faith in the safety of commonplace brands. Were these horrifying fatalities the work of a single psychopath, or was it just a convenient scapegoat in a larger conspiracy and possible cover-up? The case that transformed the bestselling medication in the world into a terrible symbol and permanently altered public perception of the items in people's medicine cabinets is revisited through this three-part series. Surviving The Tunisia Beach Attack Prime Video, streaming now In 2015, a single shooter killed 38 people in less than 40 minutes. Ten years later, survivors talk about their struggle for survival and the tragedy's lingering effects. Clarkson's Farm Prime Video, streaming now Be it for inheritance tax purposes or just a pure latent love of land, Clarkson is back. After wrapping up series three, the Diddly Squat crew return to find Kaleb touring the country and Lisa launching a new product line. This means Clarkson is left to 'manage it all'. Poor lamb. Air Force Elite: Thunderbirds Netflix, streaming now Experience the thrill (albeit second-hand) of flying with the US Air Force's Thunderbirds, witnessing the intense training, risks and dedication required to be part of this elite American institution who, essentially, do doughnuts in the sky and make Mother Nature cry. That's my two cents, anyway. Fountain of Youth AppleTV+, streaming now Estranged siblings John Krasinski and Natalie Portman go on a high-stakes global heist to find the legendary fountain, unlocking secrets that could grant immortality. Yep, you read that correctly. It also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Eiza González and Stanley Tucci. Also on Apple, we have Deaf President Now, which explores a pivotal but often overlooked civil rights movement. Fear Street: Prom Queen Netflix, streaming now Bit of an arbitrary time of year for slasher fare, but here we are. The 1988 prom at Shadyside High is a battleground as the dominant It Girls plot to win the title. However, the competition becomes lethal as candidates begin to die. Forget You Not Netflix, streaming now As a stand-up comedian and part-time convenience store employee, Cheng Le-le (Hsieh Ying-xuan) is finding that work/life balance tricky. If you throw her marital woes and her father's memory lapses into the mix, she's a woman on the brink.

This week's Uncharted: 'it's going to be hardcore'
When Ray Goggins describes a task as "hardcore" you know that he isn't being hyperbolic - and that's he labels the challenge faced on this week's Uncharted with Ray Goggins. On this Wednesday night's episode, paralympic gold medallist Ellen Keane and six-time All-Ireland Camogie star Ashling Thompson travel to Bolivia to the start of the fabled "Death Road" and meet Ray Goggins' latest challenging journey. This hair-raising descent of the world's most dangerous road is just the start of an incredible seven-day journey for Ellen, Ashling and Ray as they trek close to 100km through the dense cloud forest of Bolivia. The trio have to negotiate raging rivers, punishing terrain and wild jungle as they climb ever higher into the Andean mountains. As the trio climb higher into the mountains, the altitude starts to affect them all. On meeting Ashling and Ellen in Bolivia, Ray warns: "We are going to negotiate some of the worst and most dangerous terrain on the planet - it's going to be hardcore, you are going to be at altitude so it's not going to be for the faint hearted. It will be hellish at times" Ellen recalls crossing a makeshift wire bridge over a fast flowing river. "I had to figure out how to get across a little differently to everyone else," she explains. "Ray was not offering help too soon which was really reassuring to me because it meant that he believed I could do it. "When you are a person with a disability, everyone always expects you not to be able to do something or to always need help, and I don't like that narrative," she adds. "I can do anything that Ashling does, I just have to do it a little differently. I think that's a really important lesson for people to learn that it doesn't matter how something is done, as long as it is done at the end of the day, that's the most important thing." As well as the endurance factor, Uncharted with Ray Goggins is also about getting inside the head of the participants. Opening up around the campfire three nights into the trip, Ray questions Ashling about her anxiety. She's quite candid about her experience. She reveals: "I was constantly tipping away with the camogie but I had a fairly bad car accident and camogie was the thing that always kept my feet on the that was taken away, I completely lost control of my life." Ashling also points out that camogie later saved her, recalling: "Something clicked in my head . . . eventually I got called back up to the Cork squad and all of a sudden, my life completely changed." The pair form a strong bond throughout the trip, with Ellen telling Ashling: "I actually don't know what I would do without you, I'm glad that we are here together" Ashling compliments Ellen's mental strength as the expedition intensifies: "The resilience she shows, nothing can stop her, anything is possible when it comes to Ellen Keane and I love it," she says. On the fifth day the majestic peak of Huayna Potosi is revealed. This is the final, most brutal of challenge of them all. In two days, the group will need to traverse sheer ice walls, snow fields and mountain glaciers as they to attempt to summit the 6088 metre peak. It will be the toughest test of their lives.

‘I could have done a little bit more': Leo Varadkar says new adventure show made him reconsider leadership style
Former taoiseach Leo Varadkar has indicated that taking part in a new adventure series on RTÉ has made him reconsider his leadership style and in particular whether he could have spent more time encouraging others. Mr Varadkar, Cork singer Lyra , west Belfast rappers Kneecap and track and field star Thomas Barr are among the well-known Irish faces joining former special forces soldier Ray Goggins in the new RTÉ One series 'Uncharted with Ray Goggins.' The series will get under way later this month. The episode with Varadkar and Lyra involved them travelling to the mountains of Drakensberg, South Africa where they slept in caves, scaled gigantic peaks, and climbed sheer rock faces as they made their way to the top of one of the tallest waterfalls in the world, Tugela Falls. [ Leo Varadkar confirms he will feature in RTÉ travel show and rules out presidential bid Opens in new window ] Discussing his experience on The Brendan O'Connor Show on RTÉ Radio 1, Mr Varadkar said that he was very taken by the encouraging, calm and reassuring leadership style of former Irish Special Forces operator Ray Goggins. READ MORE 'I had to manage a cabinet, a whole team of staff, a department, an entire party, an entire government at various periods and I was always so busy. But Ray always found the time to kind of say 'well done' and encourage us. 'I did that too, but I kind of wonder now. Maybe if I'd just set aside 10 minutes more a day to send somebody a voicemail or bang off a few texts, that would have made a difference. I wouldn't have thought that before. 'I know what I am doing most of the time and I don't need much encouragement and praise but when you do something new and it is difficult that (encouragement) really counts. Former taoiseach Leo Varadkar and singer Lyra took part in the new RTÉ series 'It's almost like when you are a kid and your parents tell you 'well done' or 'you can do it' and I probably could have done a little bit more of that in my previous roles.' Mr Varadkar said that the physical challenges on the show were 'genuinely really hard'. 'I've never climbed a mountain with ropes or harnesses or things like that before. 'Just the experience of actually being out there in the wild for several days. You are sleeping in caves, sleeping in tents and making your own fires. It was a very different challenge to running a small country of 5.3 million people,' he said. He indicated that he is on a 'bit of a gap year this year.' 'I wanted to do things that were different and maybe beyond my comfort zone and this came across the desk and sounded really interesting. I am not sure I would have done it if I knew what I was signing up for but I am glad I did it in the end. 'It was challenging. I am well travelled and I'm not a shrinking violet but I've never done anything of that nature.' Mr Varadkar said that taking part the show had helped him to overcome his fear of heights. 'That was a definite positive. The one positive to learn was that I was able to do these things. It was February in South Africa so we expected summer weather and it was quite far from that. But there is some parts of it I really loved. The coming back to nature experience of going to bed after the sun goes down because there is nothing much to do after you have sat around and had your dinner. Waking up at the dawn. 'Some of those things were very special experiences and you know just phones not working. It was a great experience in that sense.' He stressed that Lyra was 'extraordinarily brave' so she made him more brave when he was 'chickening out.' Mr Varadkar admitted that he wasn't used to going in to situations without being briefed. He acknowledged that relinquishing control was an issue for him as he and Lyra were uncertain of what each challenge involved. 'You become a bit nervous as to what is ahead of you next. I was a doctor for seven years before I saw the patients I had their chart in front of me,' he said. 'I would have known a lot about them already. In politics you are well prepared and well briefed. There was no morning briefing here telling us our schedules. None of the things I take for granted. It wasn't easy.'
