The playlist features new music from the likes of Pink Seasalt, Sharmoofers, Sunkissed Child, Zein El Arfeen, Aly Amin, and more. Apr 23, 2025 In this edition of our bi-weekly 'Shuffle' playlist, we've packed in new releases from both up-and-coming and established artists across the MENA region, spanning pop, shaabi, hip-hop, and electronic music. Featured on the playlist is Cairo-based trio Sharmoofers—Ahmed Bahaa, Mohamed El-Arkan, and Farra—with their track 'Unfollow', from their latest EP of the same name. Beirut-based label Thawra Records also contributes to the mix, adding to its growing catalogue of experimental releases with 'Kharif' from the five-track EP 'Masar' by Rust. Further down the playlist, Chiati's 'Cairo Traffic' stands out as a hypnotic afro-melodic house track that captures the pulse of the city's chaos. The track was previously performed exclusively during the season premiere of SceneNoise's long-running stream series Houseplant, and now finds its way into a wider release.
