Bus Shelters, Housing Units and Advert Sites
The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has invited bids for installing 36 bus shelters across Bahrain, as part of its 2025 works plan.
Union Plastic submitted the highest offer at BD 510,705.112, while Awal Plastic submitted the lowest at BD 364,056.000.
The shelters form part of a broader effort to improve public transport services.
Separately, the Ministry of Housing is moving ahead with plans to construct 512 social apartment units in Madinat Salman. The project will be carried out on Island 12 and will span plots 15, 18 and 19.
Madinat Salman lies on reclaimed land off Bahrain's northern coast, across from Budaiya, and is being developed as a mixed-use community designed to help meet demand for social housing.
Fifteen contractors have submitted bids for the housing project. These include Santy Excavation and Contracting, Granada Contracting, Aseeri Engineering and Contracting, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons, Al Ghanim General Trading and Contracting, Sayed Kadhem Al Durazi & Sons, Al Ghanim International, the Al Khunaizi Group, Ahmed Mansoor Al Aali, Dar Al Khaleej, Almoayyed Contracting, Smart Skyline Contracting and Cebarco Bahrain.
The ministry has already issued four tenders in Madinat Salman this year. Three fall under the Government Land Development Programme and account for a combined total of 649 homes.
Also, the Capital Municipality is seeking contractors for the lease and maintenance of 171 Mobiz advertising sites located in Seef, Zinj, Sehla, Tubli, Adliya, Juffair, the Diplomatic Area and Al Hoora.
Four advertising firms submitted offers. The highest came from Adline Media at BD 1,603,541.146, while the lowest was put forward by Group Plus Advertising at BD 338,623.092.
The work is expected to improve the appearance of advertising across the city and ensure regular upkeep of the sites in line with accepted standards.
