University of Bahrain's UTEL Secures Third Accreditation from Advance HE for New 2023 Professional Standards Framework
The University of Bahrain's Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL) has once again earned official accreditation from the UK-based Advance HE, this time for the latest 2023 Professional Standards Framework (2023 PSF). This marks the third accreditation granted to UTEL, now covering all of its professional development programs.
A Milestone Achievement in Academic Excellence
On this occasion, the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, received Dr. Amal Mohammed Al Rayes, Director of UTEL. Dr. Al Ansari commended the unit's dedicated team for their pivotal role in advancing the professional development of faculty members and for their contributions toward enhancing the overall educational quality for students.
Accredited Programs Across Multiple Languages
The newly accredited programs include:
Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP)
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Certificate – offered in both Arabic and English
New to Teaching in Bahrain (NTB) Certificate
These offerings reflect the university's commitment to inclusive and multilingual academic development pathways.
Continuing a Legacy of Recognition
UTEL first achieved academic accreditation for its programs in 2016, becoming the first certified regional center of its kind. In 2022, the unit successfully renewed the accreditation for all its programs in both Arabic and English.
This latest milestone reinforces UTEL's standing as a regional leader in academic development, upholding the highest standards in educational excellence and faculty empowerment.
