'It's just it's such a juxtaposition of a guy who seemingly had no media savvy, but was always just straightforward, no time for the media, now having his life run by a [24-year-old]. Belichick put out a statement Wednesday through the University of North Carolina, where he took over as the head football coach in December. 4 Bill Belichick's CBS interview took an awkward turn. CBS 4 Jordon Hudson stopped a line of questioning during the interview. CBS The statement alleged that CBS News used 'selective editing' to push a 'false narrative' about Hudson and defended her over interruptions during the interview. Portnoy, however, claimed he wasn't entirely convinced that the statement was free of Hudson's influence. 'In my years following Bill Belichick, I would say my knowledge of him, there's roughly 0 percent chance he wrote that. But he just doesn't care generally what anyone thinks about him. So to go write that, that, my guess would be Jordon wrote that,' the Barstool Sports founder said on the radio show. He added later: 'It's just so strange in this long email, crazy. The public statement. Crazy. But I'm not even sure he knows that was written. He may not. He may not. I really don't know.' During his interview with Kelly and during his 'Unnamed Show' podcast on Barstool Sports, Portnoy said he believed Hudson was running the show. 'When we agreed to speak with Mr. Belichick, it was for a wide-ranging interview,' the statement read. 'There were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation. This was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.' Portnoy at one point defended CBS, mentioning how the quote about Hudson being Belichick's 'muse' is 'in the book.'

When questioned by officials about the scuffle, Patrick Sr. said it "was a staged altercation to get publicity for [a] celebrity boxing match that was set to take place in April 2025," according to court documents obtained by TMZ. "No, this fight is canceled," Portnoy said at the time. "Mahomes' agent — the football player — and Brittany, from what I am told, intervened and said, There's no way this fight happens; we're going to cut this guy off if he does it.'"
