Linkin Park Charts A Historic No. 1 Single

Linkin Park's 'Up From the Bottom' hits No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart, giving the band a ... More record-breaking 14 leaders, beating both Green Day or Cage the Elephant. (Photo by Medios) After months of promoting From Zero with a handful of huge, hard rock hits, Linkin Park began teasing a deluxe edition of the effort — and with it, new music. The first of two focus tracks from the expanded project, 'Up From the Bottom,' has been steadily climbing Billboard's radio rankings for several weeks now. This frame, it jumps to the top spot on two tallies it had yet to conquer. As it does, the celebrated group breaks out of a tie and stands alone with a historic number of champions on one of the most competitive airplay rankings in the United States. 'Up From the Bottom' climbs from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart this week. Linkin Park's latest cut replaces 'God Needs the Devil' by Jonah Kagen, which spent just one turn at the summit. The From Zero (Deluxe Edition) single manages to lead the list of tracks with the largest number of audience impressions across alternative radio stations in the U.S. in its eighth frame, which is a remarkably quick ascent. Linkin Park collects its fourteenth No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart as 'Up From the Bottom' rises to the top. As the band adds to its growing list of leaders, it breaks its tie with both Cage the Elephant and Green Day. Previously, all three acts had been steady with 13 rulers. Now, this all-time list has shifted. Only one group beats Linkin Park in terms of the most No. 1s ever on the Alternative Airplay chart. Red Hot Chili Peppers remain just one winner ahead of the hard rockers — at least for the time being. While several singles taken from the From Zero album have proved to be huge commercial wins, only one other track taken from the set has reached No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart. 'The Emptiness Machine' debuted in September 2024 and, just a few weeks later, rose to No. 1. It would go on to spend five weeks running the show. Follow-up cut 'Heavy Is the Crown' peaked at No. 6, inside the top 10, where the group has now collected 22 successes. In addition to claiming the second-most No. 1s of all time, Linkin Park has also scored multiple long-running rulers. 'What I've Done' stands as the band's longest-running champion, with 15 weeks on top. Both 'Numb' and 'New Divide' held on for an even dozen frames.

Linkin Park Blocked From A Historic No. 1 Hit

Linkin Park's 'Up From the Bottom' climbs to No. 2 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, blocked ... More from giving the band another No. 1 by Volbeat. (Photo by Joern Pollex/Redferns) Linkin Park's winning streak continues this week, thanks largely to the growing popularity of one single, which is on the rise across a handful of Billboard rankings. The group's latest cut 'Up From the Bottom' remains a major player at rock-focused radio stations in the United States at the moment. While the tune nearly earns the Grammy-winning act another No. 1, it's currently held back from claiming the top spot, but that could easily change in the coming days. 'Up From the Bottom' climbs to a new all-time high on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, which tallies the tracks that reach the largest total audience at stations focusing on the harder side of the genre. This frame, the cut ascends one space from No. 3 to No. 2. In the days or weeks ahead, there's a very good chance Linkin Park will notch another chart-topper — and in doing so, make history. So far, Linkin Park has scored a dozen No. 1s on the Mainstream Rock Airplay tally. The group currently stands alone in ninth place on the list of the acts that have accrued the most champions. If the rockers can notch a lucky thirteenth leader, they will tie with Van Halen, Godsmack, and Disturbed, all of which jointly hold the record for the sixth-most rulers. 'By a Monster's Hand' by Volbeat leads the Mainstream Rock Airplay list for a second frame at the moment, and it is currently keeping Linkin Park from the summit. That track recently became Volbeat's eleventh No. 1, placing the act just one champion behind Linkin Park. 'Up From the Bottom' is also moving up on the Alternative Airplay chart, and just like on the Mainstream Rock Airplay tally, it could soon advance to No. 1. This frame, it lifts from No. 5 to No. 3. Meanwhile, Linkin Park remains steady at No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay ranking with 'Up From the Bottom.' The single has now dominated that tally for five of the seven weeks it has spent somewhere on that roster. Meanwhile, 'By a Monster's Hand' rises to a new peak of No. 6 on that same list. While 'Up From the Bottom' continues climbing on radio, it slips on general consumption rankings. This frame, the track dips to No. 10 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and to No. 41 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs list.
