Celebrate creativity at Highlanes Gallery with drawing and stained glass workshops

Art lovers have a unique chance to immerse themselves in creativity this May, as Highlanes Gallery in Drogheda hosts two engaging adult workshops to mark National Drawing Day and explore the craft of stained glass.
On Saturday, May 17 the gallery invites participants to take part in 'En Plein Air' Drawing Workshop led by artist Vivienne Byrne. Running from 2pm to 3pm, the session will take place on Laurence Street, weather permitting, encouraging attendees to observe and capture the surrounding architecture through line drawing. All materials will be provided. In the case of rain, the session will move indoors to the Upper Gallery. Tickets for this event are priced at €10.
On Friday,May 23, artist and educator Medeleine Hellier will host a Stained Glass Workshop at the gallery from 11am to 12.30pm. The session includes an illustrated talk and hands-on demonstration covering traditional stained glass techniques such as cutting, grinding, copper foiling, soldering and applying finishes. The workshop will be both informative and practical, offering a glimpse into the heritage of stained glass craftsmanship. Again, all materials and tools will be supplied. Tickets are priced at €6.
