More info Roxanne Pallett's once burgeoning acting career took a nosedive following her infamous 2018 stint on Celebrity Big Brother, which resulted in her being ostracised from the entertainment industry and widely condemned by the public. Hailing from Cumbria, 42 year old Roxanne first dipped her toes in showbiz with girlband Urban Angel before transitioning to acting, rising to fame as Jo Stiles in Emmerdale. Roxanne graced the ITV soap for a mere three years, yet during this time she garnered several award nominations and became a well-known figure. Her career trajectory was on the up with subsequent gigs on Dancing on Ice, Casualty, and Waterloo Road, not to mention an array of stage roles and even a stint on a radio breakfast show. However, a controversial incident involving fellow housemate Ryan Thomas in the Big Brother house turned public opinion against her, culminating in her fleeing overseas in shame. The pivotal moment that contributed to Channel 5's decision to cancel the series involved Roxanne accusing Ryan of physically assaulting her "like a boxer would punch a bag." She branded Ryan a "woman beater" and tearfully demanded his removal from the show in the Diary Room, reports the Mirror. Big Brother issued Ryan a formal warning, explaining: "Big Brother noticed that whilst almost play fighting, you punched Roxanne in the ribs." Subsequently, Roxanne refused to share a room with Ryan, citing fears for her safety, while Ryan, known for his role on Coronation Street, was visibly distressed over the allegations. Those tuning in from home saw the incident differently, accusing Roxanne Pallett of intentionally trying to depict Ryan Thomas as abusive, a claim that only proved baseless come eviction night. It was then that Ryan discovered he was vindicated, as chants of "Get Roxanne out!" echoed from the live audience. Upon her exit, Roxanne faced a challenging interview with Big Brother host Emma Willis, confessing she had made a "terrible mistake" and expressing regret by saying: "I'm the most hated girl in Britain." She owned up to her allegations being "massively wrong" and withdrew from social media following a significant backlash, with Ofcom receiving 25,327 complaints over her alarming accusations. In the wake of the controversy, Roxanne revealed her intense struggles with mental health, even contemplating suicide. A year on, appearing on The Jeremy Vine Show, when asked if she considered taking her life, Roxanne simply replied: "Yes." Reflecting sorrowfully on past events, she said: "Looking back at those clips, it's awful. It was a really awful time for a lot of people." Yet, she also recognised her development, noticing: "It's only now that I watch those back that I realise how far I've come and what a bad place I was in." Determined to reinvent herself, she affirmed: "I never want to be that person again. I never want to react like that to a situation." In the discussion, Roxanne also mentioned her career difficulties post-scandal, feeling "blacklisted" due to the incident. Seeking a new chapter, Roxanne decided to make the big move to New York where she crossed paths with none other than firefighter Jason Carrion, famed for his stint on 'Married at First Sight. ' Fortuitously for Roxanne, Jason's quest for love on the reality show hadn't panned out, and the couple sealed their love in January 2020 with an intimate wedding ceremony, not long after their engagement in November. Following the nuptials, Roxanne shared a touching message, possibly nodding to her previous trials, saying: "There's an old saying that difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations. Well, it was worth every broken step that got me here, and I thank God every moment that out of everyone in the whole world, I was led to you. You are my safest place and my greatest adventure. Thank you for choosing me. On our wedding day, we celebrated our commitment to one another. A day I'll truly remember as perfect in every way." The joy didn't stop there for Roxanne; in 2021, she and Jason welcomed their son Maverick into the world. Bursting with pride over her husband and newfound parenthood, Roxanne once even launched an Instagram handle devoted to their shared life but soon ceased posting, choosing the path of privacy again. She reflected in 2021, stating: "I've learned the importance of privacy and have focused on becoming a better person, not just for myself but for my family." Most recently, Roxanne has hinted at the possibility of making a comeback to acting but remained ambiguous about any solid intentions to return to television. In a mystifying conversation with The Sun, she disclosed: "I don't want to rush back into anything that isn't right for me. I've learned so much about myself and what I truly want in life, and I want to make sure whatever I do next aligns with that." (Image: REX/Shutterstock)

Roxanne Pallett now from CBB's 'most hated' to famous husband and fleeing UK

Roxanne Pallett's turn on Celebrity Big Brother saw her career take a nosedive after her shocking allegations against Ryan Thomas, and the star quickly fled to New York to start her life over Roxanne Pallett 's promising acting career came crashing down after her doomed 2018 appearance in Celebrity Big Brother, which saw her 'blacklisted' from showbiz and reviled by the public. Cumbria-born Roxanne, 42, started out in girlband Urban Angel, before turning to acting and finding fame as Jo Stiles in Emmerdale. Rozanne was on the ITV soap for just three years, but received multiple award nominations during that time and quickly became a household name. ‌ Plenty of other opportunities followed, including appearances on Dancing on Ice, Casualty, and Waterloo Road, alongside lots of stage work and even a radio breakfast show. However, her actions towards housemate Ryan Thomas on Big Brother completely changed the public's view of her, and saw her flee the country in disgrace. ‌ In the shocking moment that came just before Channel 5 decided to axe the series, Roxanne accused Ryan of punching her in the ribs"like a boxer would punch a bag." The former soap star referred to Ryan as a "woman beater" and broke down in tears in the Diary Room as she demanded he leave. Big Brother later issued him with a formal warning, saying: "Big Brother noticed that whilst almost play fighting, you punched Roxanne in the ribs." Roxanne then refused to sleep in the same room as Ryan, expressing fear that he might harm her as Coronation Street star Ryan cried in worry over her claims. Viewers who watched the footage at home didn't see it that way, accusing Roxanne of purposefully trying to paint Ryan as abusive when it wasn't the case, and Ryan only learned that he was seen as innocent on eviction night, when the live audience erupted into chants of "Get Roxanne out!" When Roxanne herself left, she gave a tense interview with Big Brother host Emma Willis, admitting she had made a "terrible mistake" and lamenting: "I'm the most hated girl in Britain." She later admitted her allegations were "massively wrong" and stayed away from social media for a while, with Ofcom having received 25,327 complaints after her worrying claim. ‌ After the scandal, she admitted that she'd struggled greatly with her mental health and even felt suicidal. Reflecting on the controversy a year later on The Jeremy Vine Show, the host asked whether she had ever considered taking her own life, with Roxanne simply responding: "Yes." She admitted: "Looking back at those clips, it's awful. It was a really awful time for a lot of people." However, she also acknowledged her personal growth, stating: "It's only now that I watch those back that I realise how far I've come and what a bad place I was in." The actress also swore: "I never want to be that person again. I never want to react like that to a situation." During the conversation, she also shared that she was struggling to find work, and felt "blacklisted" due to her false claims. Looking for a fresh start, Roxanne packed up and moved to New York, where she met firefighter Jason Carrion, who'd found fame on Married at First Sight. Thankfully for Roxanne, his time on the dating show didn't result in true love, and they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in January 2020, exchanging vows in an intimate ceremony just two months after they got engaged. ‌ Roxanne seemed to hint at her past struggles in an emotional message posted after the wedding, writing: "There's an old saying that difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations. Well, it was worth every broken step that got me here, and I thank God every moment that out of everyone in the whole world, I was led to you. You are my safest place and my greatest adventure. Thank you for choosing me. On our wedding day, we celebrated our commitment to one another. A day I'll truly remember as perfect in every way." In 2021 Roxanne had more happy news, as she and Jason celebrated the birth of their first child; a baby boy named Maverick. The mum has gushed over Jason and starting a family, and even once started an Instagram account dedicated to their life together - but quickly stopped posting and opted for privacy once more. In 2021, she acknowledged: "I've learned the importance of privacy and have focused on becoming a better person, not just for myself but for my family.' Most recently, Roxanne has danced around the idea of returning to acting, but didn't clarify whether she had any firm plans to get back on TV. Speaking to The Sun, she cryptically shared: "I don't want to rush back into anything that isn't right for me. I've learned so much about myself and what I truly want in life, and I want to make sure whatever I do next aligns with that."
