Chick-Fil-A coming to Ballenger Creek shopping center in the fall
The Frederick area will get its third Chick-fil-A restaurant in the coming months, with a new branch opening along New Design Road, south of the city.
While exact plans are still being determined, the restaurant at the corner of New Design Road and Corporate Drive is expected to open in the fall, Aaron Crunkilton, the franchise owner for the new restaurant and the restaurant on Urbana Pike, said Monday.
A third restaurant with different ownership is on Monocacy Boulevard on the north side of the city.
The new restaurant will serve the Ballenger Creek neighborhood, as well as hopefully draw business from traffic along New Design Road, Crunkilton said.
The new restaurant, about 125 seats, will be a little bigger than the Urbana Pike restaurant, which has 110 seats, he said.
It will have a three-lane drive-thru area and a playground, he said.
The restaurant will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Crunkilton said he is accepting applications at the Urbana Pike branch for people who want to work at the new restaurant.
