UAE used electric vehicle market sees 53% surge: dubizzle

The UAE's used electric vehicle (EV) market recorded a 53 percent increase in demand during 2024, with total EV listings rising by 47 percent, according to dubizzle's Used Electric Vehicle Market Report 2024. Tesla maintains its position as the market leader with a 36 percent share, while its Model 3 and Model S rank among the top three sedans, and Model Y and Model X lead the SUV category. Beyond its EV segment, dubizzle's 2024 pre-owned car market report reviewed data from over 1.8 million active monthly users who browsed 300,000 used car listings from more than 100 brands. German EV brands capture top spots in UAE's used electric car market BYD follows Tesla in popularity, with its Song Plus, Seagull, and HAN models gaining traction in the market. According to our 2024 market analysis, the pre-owned car segment continues to experience steady growth, with a notable surge in the electric vehicle sector. The report reveals that German manufacturers Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz occupy the third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively in the market. The platform currently hosts more than 7,000 electric car listings. In terms of pricing, the Tesla Model 3 ranges from AED120,600 to AED195,000 for 2020-2024 models, while the Porsche Taycan commands between AED389,900 and AED466,900 for 2021-2024 models. In the SUV category, the Tesla Model Y is priced between AED140,000 and AED207,400 for 2020-2024 models. dubizzle's report highlights a shift in consumer preferences towards sustainable mobility, supported by increased vehicle options and government initiatives, which includes the UAE government's plans to install 1,000 charging stations in Dubai by 2025 and 70,000 in Abu Dhabi by 2030.
