Progressive journalist celebrates Biden's cancer diagnosis
By Progressive journalist Taylor Lorenz has been met with a wave of backlash online after she publicly celebrated Joe Biden 's cancer diagnosis. 'Hopefully he rots in hell and rests in [expletive],' the former Washington Post columnist wrote Monday in a now-viral X post. Her post included a screenshot of a VICE News story that inaccurately quotes Biden about access to healthcare for everyone. Lorenz's post was met with heavy criticism from Biden fans and conservatives alike, with some branding her a 'sick and twisted person' and others accusing her of being 'intentionally misleading' and spreading 'poisonous vile'. One X user even went as far as claiming that 'hatred of Taylor Lorenz' is one of the only things that can 'unite the left and the right'. Another added that she made him 'sympathize with Joe Biden'. But Lorenz, who authors tech and online culture publication User Mag, has doubled down on her remarks despite the ridicule she faces on social media. In a statement shared online, she called Biden a 'war criminal' and accused him of being 'responsible for at least nearly 1 million deaths from Covid '. Social media users are outraged by Lorenz's comments and have called for her to have her journalism credentials 'revoked'. 'Holy [expletive]. This is fake and you've turned into everything they accused you of being. What a disgusting thing to post,' one person wrote on X. Another echoed: 'You should have whatever credential you have revoked. You're clearly not into vetting stories.' Others have directly attacked Lorenz's character, claiming that she is 'piece of [expletive]' and a '[expletive] waste of flesh'. 'What you wish on others will come back to you. And it probably should for spreading lies,' one user wrote. 'Hating someone so much only exposes how empty and hateful you truly are,' said another. 'I knew you had zero journalist integrity but this is a new low, even for you. You're disgusting,' another added. And one user even went as far as issuing a stark warning to Lorenz, saying: 'If karma is real, you're coming back as a toilet seat.' But Lorenz appears relatively unphased by the hateful remarks and, in a statement she alleges was emailed to a NY Post reporter, continued her attack on Biden. She called Biden a 'war criminal who personally sanctioned the genocide of thousands of innocent Palestinians, including countless cancer patients'. Lorenz highlighted how the 'only cancer hospital' in Gaza has been closed for 'over a year', alleging that 'nearly 10,000 cancer patients' in the region do not have access to care or chemotherapy. She further accused Biden of kicking 'millions, including cancer patients, off of healthcare' during the 'raging' coronavirus pandemic - which she alleged resulted in 'at least nearly 1 million deaths'. After claiming that 'covid itself has been linked to cancer', Lorenz concluded: 'My sympathies will always lie with the innocent people Biden has killed and disabled, not the genocidal war monger sanctioning their deaths'. There is no official evidence to support Lorenz's accusations against the president. has approached Lorenz for comment via the email address associated with her User Mag publication. Biden's office said he had been diagnosed Friday with an 'aggressive' prostate cancer that had spread to his bones . Cancers that have spread, or metastasized, are considered stage 4, the most advanced. The finding came after the 82-year-old reported urinary symptoms, which led doctors to discover a nodule on his prostate. 'While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,' his office said in a statement. 'The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.' Biden posted a photo of himself and his wife Jill Biden to X on Monday morning, writing: 'Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.' Hardball is back. Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews is rebooting the cable news show, which chronicled the world of politics across three networks for some 26 years from 1994 until 2020. Now, he says he is reviving the show on Substack, teasing new episodes on Mondays at noon, and adding that 'the pitch is faster.' 'For twenty-some years, I asked tough questions and got a good number of surprising answers,' Matthews said in his intro post. 'Now, I'm about to do it again on Substack, an independent way to ask questions and give you the answers.' Ashley St. Clair sues Elon Musk for sole custody of his alleged 13th child
Conservative author and influencer Ashley St. Clair is suing Elon Musk for legal custody of the son she claims they welcomed last fall, which would be the 13th child born to the controversial billionaire. The children's book author, 26, filed the petition Friday in New York Supreme Court, according to documents viewed by People. She also filed a paternity petition seeking to legally establish Musk as the father of the 5-month-old boy, referred to in the documents as R.S.C. According to User Mag, which first reported the news, St. Clair claims she and the 53-year-old Tesla honcho began a romantic relationship in May 2023 before conceiving R.S.C. in January of last year. She reportedly gave birth to the boy on Sept. 17. Although the SpaceX bigwig allegedly claimed 'parentage of the child in various written correspondences,' as seen in screenshots included in the filing, St. Clair says Musk has refused to publicly acknowledge R.S.C. as his own. Musk was not there for the boy's birth and 'has had no involvement in his care and upbringing,' the documents state. St. Clair claims Musk has only met their child three times, the last being in late November, and that he's never once asked to see the boy or checked on his wel-lbeing without her initiating. In one screenshot of texts shared in the filing, a sender appearing to be Musk seemingly urges St. Clair to keep quiet about their son, citing 'threat level(s)' amid the presidential election. Musk was one of Donald Trump's top campaign donors and has since been named the head of the administration's Department of Government Efficiency. 'I'm #2 after Trump for assassination. Wake up. This is not the time for sentiment at the expense of safety,' the texts read. 'If I make a mistake on security, (R.S.C.) will never know his father.' 'That's why the father spot on his birth certificate is blank right now, E. And why he has my last name,' St. Clair responds, to which Musk allegedly said, 'Necessary for now. … Loose lips sink ships.' St. Clair first publicly announced the child on Valentine's Day, after allegedly learning that an unnamed tabloid was planning to break the news. 'Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. 'Elon Musk is the father,' she wrote on X, the platform owned by the tech exec. At the time wrote, she said she had 'not previously disclosed this to protect our child's privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.' She expressed her desire for their son 'to grow in a normal and safe environment' and requested the media respect the child's privacy. Days later, St. Clair claimed Musk had ceased contact with her, despite her numerous attempts to get in touch. Musk has not publicly responded to any of St. Clair's claims.
