Kanpur lawyer's call prompts search on Utsarg Exp

Lucknow: An extensive combing operation for explosives and suspects was carried out on Utsarg Express ,which was halted at Manaknagar railway station , following a Kanpur-based lawyer's train stopped at Manaknagar railway station at 7:13pm after GRP Prayagraj control room shared an alert. Railway officials said a lawyer had contacted sub-inspector Anjana Singh at the Kanpur GRP outpost, reporting he had overheard some suspects discussing plan to plant explosives on the train. The information was subsequently shared through official GRP DSP Amit Kumar Singh told TOI, "We searched every nook and corner of the train, no explosives or suspects were found. The train was later cleared from Manaknagar railway station for further journey at 8:20 pm."The DSP added, "Police made several attempts to contact the lawyer who made the call to GRP, but his phone remained switched off. We are tracing him to ascertain credibility of his alert shared with GRP. If he had made a hoax call, he would be in deep trouble."
