Uttarakhand madrasas to teach military valour, include 'Operation Sindoor' in the curriculum

DEHRADUN: In a significant move aimed at nurturing a deeper sense of patriotism among students, the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board has announced its decision to include "Operation Sindoor" and other key Indian military operations in the madrasa curriculum. According to sources, the revised syllabus applicable up to the intermediate (Alia) level will educate students about the courage and sacrifices of the nation's armed forces. Uttarakhand madrasas to include Operation Sindoor in its syllabus: Education Board

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 21 (ANI): Mufti Shamoon Qasmi, president of the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board, has said that students in state madrasas will be taught about Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Armed Forces against terror infrastructures in Pakistan. Qasmi said that a delegation met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and congratulated him on Operation Sindoor. The delegation also conveyed its thoughts to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The delegation took inspiration from Operation Sindoor and decided to teach the students about the operations conducted by the Indian forces in the madrasas of Uttarakhand. Qasmi highlighted that Operation Sindoor is being included in the syllabus of Uttarakhand's madrasas as it is the country's 'paramount.' 'A delegation of the Muslim community met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and we congratulate the defence minister on Operation Sindoor. We conveyed our thoughts that we are with PM Modi. Taking inspiration from that, we thought of a new beginning, and we will teach the children studying in Madrasas about Operation Sindoor... Pakistan killed our innocent civilians... We are not those who believe in the two-nation theory. We don't differentiate between Hindus and Muslims... We are including it in the syllabus as the country is paramount... We will begin this from 2025', Mufti Shamoon Qasmi told ANI. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead. As part of the operation, Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating over 100 terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. On May 10, both countries agreed to the cessation of hostilities. The Indian government has decided to send a delegation of its MPs from various parties to different countries to brief them about the Operation Sindoor. (ANI)

‘Waqf Act historic step for Muslims, will prevent graft'

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh unit of BJP Monday held a briefing over the Waqf Amendment Bill Act, 2025. On this occasion, Mufti Shamoon Qasmi , chairman of the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board, strongly supported the Waqf Amendment Act 2025. He termed the Act as a historic step for the Muslim community and strongly criticised the opposition to it by the Congress and some Muslim organisations. Mufti Qasmi said, "The Waqf Amendment Act 2025 will ensure transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties, so that these properties can be used for the welfare of the Muslim community. This Act will not only prevent corruption in the Waqf Board but will also ensure that Waqf properties are effectively used for the educational, social, and economic development of the Muslim community." Accusing the Congress of misusing waqf properties, Mufti Qasmi said, "For decades, the Congress Party considered Muslims as their vote bank and used Waqf properties for their political interests. They were misleading the Muslim community in the name of appeasement politics. This Act will put an end to that appeasement politics and lead the Muslim community towards real development." He also challenged the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board and other Muslim organisations, saying, "Those who are opposing the Waqf Amendment Act today are not actually protecting the interests of the Muslim community but are furthering the agenda of the Congress. These organisations are misleading people and helping the Congress in making Muslims a vote bank. I want to ask these organisations what they did for the Muslim community in the last 70 years?"
