At Chepstow Castle, a historical event titled 'Let's Discover... Medieval Food' will take visitors on a gastronomical tour of medieval cuisine. The event will run from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11. There will be a display of ingredients, food, and utensils from the era, with demonstrations of bread dough and spice mix preparation for gingerbread. Children can also participate using fake food to assemble ingredients for the cauldron of pottage and set the table for a noble castle visitor. Normal entry fees apply, and tickets do not need to be booked in advance. In Pontypool, the Collector Sector is set to have its grand opening at the indoor market on Saturday, May 10. The store will also offer in-store card grading via Pocket Card Grading. There is free parking and convenient public transport routes to the market. In Cwmbran, the Cwmbran Centre Food Craft & Gift Market will be held on Saturday, May 10. The market also offers free parking. To celebrate 80 years since the end of World War 2, an event named V.E. 80 will be held at the Old Bridge End Inn on Commercial Street, Pontnewydd. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period-appropriate clothing to fully immerse themselves in the spirit of the night.
