ISB honours young achievers for Classes IV and V

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) hosted its Annual Academic Awards Ceremony on Thursday for Classes IV and V, celebrating the scholastic accomplishments of students during the academic year 2024- 2025. The occasion was graced by ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon. Member HSSE and Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Hon. and Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon. Member-Projects and Maintenance Mithun Mohan, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas. The programme commenced with the National Anthems of Bahrain and India. This was followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by student Fatima Filzah Rukuddin of Class IV-G. Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese lighted the ceremonial lamp. Commitment In his presidential address, Adv. Binu Mannil commended the teachers for their unwavering commitment and instrumental role in the students' academic achievements. He congratulated the awardees for their exemplary performance and acknowledged the efforts of all students who received 'A1 Grade' certificates for their diligence and consistency. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the parents for their steadfast support and partnership in nurturing discipline and academic responsibility among students. Earlier the programme began with the school prayer, followed by an invocation dance performed gracefully by students from Classes IV and V. Principal VR Palaniswamy welcomed the gathering and emphasised the significance of academic recognition. Gratitude The vote of thanks was delivered by Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, who expressed gratitude to all those involved in organising the successful event. A highlight of the ceremony was the distribution of A1 Certificates to the meritorious students of Classes IV and V. This was followed by a captivating theme-based dance presentation, showcasing the talent and creativity of the young learners. The programme was effectively anchored by Noora Rahmathil (IV-H), Abhimanyu Midhun (VW), and Reyhan Thomas (V-B), who served as the masters of ceremonies.

TDT I Manama The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) witnessed a rousing opening to its ISB @ 75 Junior & Senior Open Badminton Tournament on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at its Isa Town campus. A key event in the school's year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the tournament's first day saw an impressive 65 matches played. The highly anticipated event has drawn over 350 players, with a packed schedule of more than 400 matches set to unfold over five days, culminating in a grand closing ceremony on May 10. The tournament is proudly sponsored by National Trading House WLL. The tournament was officially declared open by ISB Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests including Mr. Dileep C Thaker, Managing Director of National Trading House WLL; Mr. Ahmed Al Jallad, Coach of the Bahrain National Badminton Team; Mr. V. Rajapandian, Secretary of ISB; Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Vice-Chairman & Member HSSE and Sports; Mr. Bonny Joseph, Member-Finance&IT Mr. VR Palaniswamy, Principal of ISB; Ms. Pamela Xavier, Principal of the Junior Wing; Mr. G Satheesh, Vice-Principal of the Senior School & Academic Administration; Ms. Priya Laji, Vice-Principal of the Junior Wing; Ms. Parvathi Devadas, Staff Representative; Mr. Prince S. Natarajan, General Convener of the Platinum Jubilee Committee; Mr. Saji Antony, former EC Secretary; former EC Members (Sports) Mr. Rajesh MN and Mr. Ajakarishnan V; Mr. Binu Pappachan, Tournament Director; Mr. Shanil Abdul Rahim (Badminton Asia), Tournament Referee; Mr. Adil Ahmed, Tournament General Convener; and Mr. Binoj Mathew, Coordinator, along with other officials from the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF). The prestigious tournament is being held in the newly renovated Jashanmal Auditorium, which now boasts four international-standard badminton courts featuring impact-resistant PVC flooring and professional lighting. Sanctioned and supported by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF), this major sporting event stands as one of the largest badminton tournaments in the Kingdom, attracting top-tier players from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The tournament showcases a comprehensive range of 39 events, encompassing Boys' and Girls' Singles and Doubles across various age groups from U9 to U19, Men's Doubles (Elite, Championship, F1–F5), Women's Doubles (Levels 1 & 2), and Mixed Doubles (Levels C, 1 & 2). All matches are being fiercely contested in a knockout format, strictly adhering to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rules and officiated by certified umpires. Winners across all categories will be awarded cash prizes and trophies, while all participants will receive digital certificates in recognition of their involvement. The ISB community proudly presents this tournament as a significant sporting highlight during its momentous 75th-year celebrations. ISB Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Secretary V. The Indian School Hosts Heartfelt Farewell for Class 12 Students

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) held an emotional and vibrant farewell event for its Class 12 students, organized by their juniors from Class 11 under the guidance of dedicated teachers. The ceremony, filled with heartwarming moments, marked a significant milestone in the lives of the outgoing students as they prepare for their CBSE board exams. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Hon. Vice-Chairman and Hon. Member for HSSE and Sports, Dr. Mohammed Faizal, who lit the ceremonial lamp to officially commence the celebrations. Other notable attendees included ISB Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Assistant Secretary and Hon. Member for Academics, Ranjini Mohan, Principal V.R. Palaniswamy, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, and Head Teacher Regi Varughese. The programme began with the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a respectful and solemn tone. Assistant Head Girl Oviya Priya extended a warm welcome to the audience, including students, staff, and parents. A symbolic moment of the celebration was when Head Boy Shan Diamond Louis and Head Girl Abigail Ellis Shibu cut the farewell cake, sharing a poignant moment with their peers. The inaugural address by Dr. Mohammed Faizal emphasized gratitude and offered inspiring words for the students' future endeavors. The Head Boy and Head Girl delivered emotional speeches, reflecting on their school journey and cherishing the memories they created along the way. A specially curated video highlighting the milestones and cherished moments of the academic year was presented, evoking nostalgia and joy among the attendees. The event's cultural and entertainment elements added vibrancy to the occasion. A musical band performance captivated the audience, while cultural programs and fun games ensured a lively atmosphere. Excellence awards were presented to students who had made outstanding contributions throughout the year, celebrating their achievements. Assistant Head Boy Brent A. Biju concluded the formal proceedings with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Executive Committee members, and Principal V.R. Palaniswamy extended their best wishes to the outgoing batch.
