V4 Industry Leaders to Gather in Bratislava to Discuss Transatlantic Trade and EU Market Strategies

BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA, May 26, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Council of Slovak Exporters welcomes the launch of the European Commission's public consultation, announced in early May, focused on potential response measures regarding certain imported goods from the United States, should ongoing discussions on transatlantic economic cooperation not lead to a mutually beneficial outcome. Topics under consultation may include trade flows in sectors such as steel scrap and chemical products. The consultation will close on 10 June, coinciding with the Visegrad 4 Business Conference in Bratislava, where regional business leaders will convene to address global economic relations, EU market resilience, and other key issues critical to regional competitiveness. 'It is indeed symbolic that these consultations with the European Commission, which represent a much-needed link between the private and public sectors, are culminating on the day of our Visegrad 4 Business Conference, which aims to do exactly the same: To achieve demand-driven public policies and measures that will help Europe's industry and exports from losing global competitiveness.' – said Lukáš Parízek, founder of the Visegrad 4 Business Conference and Chairman of the Council of Slovak Exporters. Top industry representatives from various sectors, as well as public officials and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, have already confirmed their participation in this key regional business event. The conference, organized in the premises of the Bratislava Castle, will be opened with a speech by the Speaker of the Parliament Richard Raši. Maroš Šefčovič, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, will deliver his remarks and speak in an exclusive format during the first part of the day, as well as attend a roundtable discussion with industry leaders from the V4 region. Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó have also confirmed their participation in the closing part of the conference. Visegrad 4 Business Conference is jointly organised since 2022 by four business organisations from the V4 region: Council of Slovak Exporters, Czech Association of Exporters, Hungarian business association MAPI Klub and Polish Economic Forum. The conference is organised with the support of the International Visegrad Fund, individual V4 governments and private sponsors. The Honor Magic V5 is likely coming next month, will be under 9mm thick

The race is on – multiple makers will be competing to make the thinnest foldable smartphone this year. And Honor exec Li Kun set the challenge, saying that the 'Honor will still be the lightest and thinnest'. This refers to the Honor Magic V5 (it won't be called the V4). How thin? Well, all that we know officially about it is that it will launch by the end of next month. Turning to rumors, the Honor Magic V5 will allegedly measure 8.x millimeters when closed. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 will measure 8.9mm, according to Ice Universe, so it will be down to tenths of a millimeter. For reference, the Honor Magic V3 is 9.2mm. Honor Magic V5 (MBH-AN10) details on TENAA 5,950mAh battery (compared to 5,150mAh on the V3) with 66W charging, which is confirmed by TENAA details. Further details posted by Experience More promise a Snapdragon 8 Elite inside the V5 (the 8-core version). The phone will be available in Silk Road Dunhuang (should be a warm, earthy tone) and Velvet Black. BeiDou satellite messaging will allegedly be supported. Since we haven't heard anything about a big Honor event in the next couple of weeks, the Magic V5 will likely come out next month. The Z Fold7 is expected in July, by the way. Visegrad 4 Business Conference This Year Also With the Participation of European Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trade relations with the USA, the declining competitiveness of European companies, the automotive industry and global trade partnerships with emerging markets are the main topics of the fourth edition of the international conference Visegrad 4 Business, which will take place in Bratislava on 10th June 2025. The conference is traditionally co-organised by four business associations from the Visegrad Four under the leadership of the Council of Slovak Exporters. In addition to representatives of companies and industry leaders, the event is traditionally attended by representatives of V4 governments. Maroš Šefčovič, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, has also confirmed his participation. 'By organising the Visegrad 4 Business conference this year, we are responding to the dynamic changes in international trade. This is reflected not only by the topics of the event, but also by the high interest and participation of domestic industry and partners from abroad. By discussing the most pressing economic topics, we will strive to unite the demand from business towards the public sector in order to achieve positive changes and probusiness policies.' said Lukáš Parízek, founder of the conference. This key regional business forum has been successfully organised in Bratislava, Prague and Budapest in recent years with the participation of nearly a thousand guests from the private and public sector, including diplomatic missions. Experts from various sectors discussed topics such as post-pandemic recovery, energy security, logistics and connectivity, Ukraine's reconstruction, cyber security, artificial intelligence, space industry and family business challenges. By finding common solutions in an open and informal discussion, entrepreneurs from the V4 region can not only present themselves, but also find new business partners and thus promote cross-border cooperation between neighbouring countries.
