Tribune News Network Doha The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) kicked off Day 1 of the ICC Carnival 2025 at ICC Film City, located at the Ideal Indian School Grounds. This vibrant cultural spectacle is dedicated to celebrating the rich legacy of Indian cinema, paying tribute to the stories, stars, and spirit that have united millions across generations. The carnival opened on a high note, with excitement and joy lighting up every corner of the venue. The entire ground was transformed into a cinematic wonderland featuring life-size cut-outs of pan-Indian superstars, providing perfect selfie spots where visitors eagerly captured moments with their favourite screen icons. The space buzzed with energy, nostalgia, and pride—a true homage to the magic of Indian films. Adding to the festive ambience were numerous live food stalls from Qatar's most renowned Indian restaurants, alongside a vibrant bazaar-style marketplace offering Indian handicrafts, jewellery, traditional attire, and home décor. The cultural pavilions captured the essence of India's diverse heritage, offering an immersive experience that showcased the country's richness and variety. A major highlight of Day 1 was the art exhibition titled INDIA by VAFI, along with a captivating photo exhibition—both of which were highly appreciated by art lovers and visitors alike. For younger audiences and families, the carnival delivered endless joy and entertainment through magic shows, stilt walkers, roaming performers, and delightful surprises at every turn. ICC Film City created an evening filled with smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories for all ages. Dr Vaibhav A Thandale, counsellor (HOC & Consular) at the Embassy of India and coordinating officer of ICC, graced the event with his presence. He was joined by several senior embassy officials, diplomats, distinguished Qatari guests, and influential media personalities and content creators from across the region. Day 1 of the ICC Carnival was nothing short of magical—seamlessly blending celebration, culture, and community in an unprecedented tribute to Indian cinema. The incredible turnout and enthusiastic participation reflected the strong bond between the Indian diaspora and Qatar's vibrant multicultural fabric.
