Roglič pulls out of Giro after latest crashes

Former winner Primož Roglič quit the 108th Giro d'Italia on Tuesday, five days before the finale in Rome.
The Slovenian pre-race favourite had been weakened by several crashes in recent days and ended the race after another fall during the 16th stage on Tuesday, just 100 kilometres before the finish.

Shortly before Roglič's withdrawal was announced, Italian cyclist Alessio Martinelli also crashed heavily amid persistent rain.
His team announced on X that Martinelli had been taken to hospital and was conscious. His condition is stable.
