‘Stranger Things' Season 5 Gets Three Release Dates, First Trailer
Stranger Things Netflix As part of Netflix's big self-congratulatory preview show, TUDUM, the live showcase just revealed the long-awaited release date for Stranger Things season 5, its final season. Or rather release dates, plural. Netflix has been doing this with all its biggest shows recently, but this time it's a triple-header. The last break is a bit for suspense rather than anything else, but here's the list: That release time is simultaneous all over the world so you can translate it into whatever your time zone is. Some of you will have to skip the ball drop, I guess. Stranger Things season 5 was promised to come out in 2025, and it's just making it by the skin of its teeth. It is no great shock that it's broken up. It almost invented this practice when the back end of season 4 was delayed due to apparent VFX-finalizing issues. But then Netflix just started doing it all the time, presumably to keep subscriptions running for two months at least rather than just a binge and dump for a single show. Though lately, they've scaled the practice back at least a little bit. But not for Wednesday season 2, and not for Stranger Things' final season here. The reveal also came with a new trailer for season 5 which you can check out below: So I mean, sort of a new trailer. Half of it is flashbacks to old seasons, but there is some initial season 5 footage in there showing a lot of scariness and one very intense line delivery at the end. It has been a stunning amount of time since Stranger Things season 4 released in May of 2022, so that kind of refresher is warranted (a running TV joke is that all four seasons of The Bear will have come out before Stranger Things season 5 is out). Netflix no doubt expects this to be one of its biggest launches of all time, if not its biggest period, but it may have to dual with Wednesday season 2, and that show is only just getting started. So, it's good we have a release date, unsurprising that it's broken into these pieces and I mean, hey, I'll be there. It's been a decade-long ride, so why stop now? Universal Pictures has shared a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Jurassic World Rebirth , and it puts a focus on bringing the dinosaurs to life for the movie. The video offers interviews with Gareth Edwards, the cast and his VFX team discussing the making of this movie, footage from the production, and some new footage from the movie, which looks like a really fun ride! This script for the movie is written by original Jurassic Park Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, and that is what excites me most about the movie! In the film, 'The planet's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. 'The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.' The movie stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, and Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid. The director previously said that the movie is 'a giant love letter to Steven Spielberg and his earlier films. There are moments in this movie that remind me very much of Jaws. 'It's like little greatest hits of all those aspects of his films that I loved growing up as a child. It's essentially a little adventure odyssey across this island, a survival story, really.' The film is set five years after the events of Dominion , 'in which dinosaurs mingled with humans all over the globe, these creatures are now dying out. 'The present-day planet proved to be inhospitable to the prehistoric ilk, except for a small region in the tropics around the equator, where many of them now congregate. 'The three most colossal dinosaurs of land, sea, and air within this biosphere hold genetic material precious to a pharmaceutical company that hopes to use the dino DNA to create a life-saving drug for humanity.' Universal Pictures will release the Steven Spielberg-produced film in theaters on July 2, 2025.

Drive with crucial VFX visuals of this Indian flick "stolen" month before release
An executive producer of the film Kannappa filed a complaint at the Film Nagar police station in Hyderabad in India, alleging the theft of a hard disk containing the movie's VFX visuals. Kannappa is a mythological epic that narrates the story of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva. It stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead. An inspector later told reporters that unknown individuals entered the office and stole a hard disk containing VFX visuals of the movie. "...We have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter," the inspector said. Kannappa has created a buzz with it's stunning visuals and ensemble cast as shown in its teaser. Vishnu Manchu takes center stage as Thinnadu, a fearless warrior who transforms into Lord Shiva's ultimate devotee. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar appears in the role of Lord Shiva. Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal and Preity Mukhundhan headline its cast. The film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh.

A hard drive containing vital VFX footage has reportedly gone missing, prompting concerns about potential delays. The film also stars Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu, Madhoo, and Mohanlal in pivotal roles. According to 123Telugu report, the hard drive was delivered by the Mumbai-based VFX company to the Kannappa production office. It is alleged that Raghu received the drive and then handed it over to a person named Charita, who has since gone missing, complicating the situation further. Executive producer Vijay Kumar has filed a complaint, and an investigation is currently underway. Recently, Akshay Kumar has shared a new poster from the film. In April, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the release date on his X handle. Why ‘Avengers: Doomsday' And ‘Secret Wars' Were Delayed, Per Report
Fantastic Four Marvel announced a news item that was shocking but not surprising on Thursday, that Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars had now been pushed back six months each. That's Doomsday going from May 1, 2026 to December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars going from May 7, 2027 to December 17, 2027. They remain a year apart but now Doomsday is a full year and a half away. It also means that Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes place before both films instead of in between, which raises some questions. Why did this happen? There are two main reasons via an insider report at Deadline: 'Insiders noted that these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision. Disney/Marvel elected for December dates, given the success they've had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home. Avengers: Doomsday is in production now.' Quantumania 'Executing' the vision may mean script issues and shooting, but it overwhelmingly likely means time to work on VFX, something Marvel has been accused of rushing and skimping on in many of its last few projects. Movies like Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have come under fire for this, as has She-Hulk, notoriously rushed to get the VFX done for its lead character. The second reason is at least somewhat amusing, the fact that Marvel remembered that many of their movies do the best with a December release date, except uh, the last two Avengers movies, Endgame and Infinity War, both came out in April. Their last megahit, Deadpool and Wolverine, was out in July. So I'm not sure how much this tracks. Fans are wondering what's going on with Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Marvel really cares about its timelines and it's a big deal when you're now releasing before the new Avengers movies rather than being an interlude between them. Whether that requires rewrites or whether the film was disconnected enough from the Avengers movies remains to be seen. Notably, Tom Holland was not shown in the infamous 'chair reveal' of the Doomsday cast, and he was the biggest character to be skipped. Spider-Man Marvel also has real competition now in the form of the just-launched DCU, which may have started with an animated feature but will now introduce Superman in full this summer, and promotion has been ramping up for that. Marvel's big film is the introduction of the Fantastic Four, who will be a big part of Doomsday. It all feels a bit freewheeling, but a delay to make these films better, especially on the VFX side, can only help them. But another one? Well, then you're pushing it.
