When it comes to the Bill Belichick/Jordon Hudson situation, there are so many stories popping up every day. On one hand, we exercise restraint. On the other hand, we're running a business. And the Belichick-Hudson business is booming. An already robust month of NFL news has seen a major spike in PFT traffic thanks to the never ending Belichick P.R. imbroglio. The three most viewed stories for May flowed from the aftermath of the interview featuring Belichick in a shirt with two neck holes. Some would say that, at times, the audience should be denied the candy that it craves. But has Mars Inc. ever told a customer, 'Sorry, you've had enough Twix bars'? We're a smorgasbord of meat (even it it's Spam), potatoes, leafy vegetables, and dessert. So here's another piece of coconut cream pie. In the aftermath of the recent New York Times report that Hudson has told at least one person that she and Belichick are engaged to be married, has produced photos of a revision to the name of Belichick's boat. Dubbed VIII Rings for the six Super Bowls Belichick won with the Patriots and two with the Giants, the name has been changed. It's now 'I + VIII Rings.' And all that that implies. It's the latest example of the clumsy balance Belichick and Hudson are trying to strike. On one hand, they seem to want the attention even more than a chocoholic wants a Hershey's bar. On the other hand, they want to complain about the scrutiny that comes from the attention they actively seek. That's one of the many various factors that make this coupling so compelling. And it's why the audience wants to read about them almost as badly as they want to be read about.

Could Bill Belichick's new name for his boat be another sign that the Super Bowl-winning head coach and Jordon Hudson are indeed engaged? Belichick's boat got a fresh coat of paint and a new name along with it, going from benign called 'VIII Rings' to 'I + VIII Rings,' TMZ reported on Tuesday, hours after the New York Times published a piece that included details that Hudson had told at least one person the couple was engaged. The TMZ report included photos of the boat that showed eight rings around the 'R' in the name of the vessel, though it's not clear whether that's an homage to an engagement ring that Belichick gave Hudson or a reference to the championship ring she has. News of the new name comes on the same day as a story in The New York Times, which reported that Belichick's girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, has told at least one person that she and the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach, 73, are engaged. The former New York Patriots coach and the former college cheerleader have said that they met on a JetBlue flight from Boston to West Palm Beach, Fla. on February 11, 2021, but waited before going public with their romance last year. Pictures published by TMZ show the boat sporting the revised name as of Tuesday, May 20. A separate photo dated February 11, 2019 — taken two years to the day before the two met — showed the boat's previous moniker, which was simply VIII Rings. The couple's relationship has taken center stage in recent weeks, on the eve of Belichick's first season in college football. The University of North Carolina coach has spent much of May publicizing his new book The Art of Winning in a series of interviews — all of which come on the heels of his awkward appearance on CBS Sunday Morning in which Hudson interrupted when he was asked how they met. 'We're not talking about this,' the former Bridgewater State University student interjected when CBS reporter Tony Dokoupil asked. Hudson has been spotted frequently alongside Belichick in Chapel Hill, at spring football practice and at a basketball game in February, amid a podcast claim that the university had banned her from its football facilities. UNC later refuted the report. "While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities," the school said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.
