Developer booked for 6cr hsg project fraud
Mumbai: The city police have booked a city developer, Apurva Paresh Shah, his firm Padmavati Maitri Corporation LLP, and several associates for allegedly cheating a construction contractor and his family-run companies of nearly Rs 6 crore.

Based on complaints of construction consultant Bharat Patel, Dindoshi police booked Shah and others for cheating, misappropriation of funds, and criminal conspiracy. The case pertains to the Maitri Gaurav Hsg Soc redevelopment project in Pahadi Village, Goregaon.
According to the complaint filed by Patel, he and his family's companies—Vaibhav Corp, Rashmi Buildcon, and Radhe Civicon Pvt. Ltd —were brought on board to execute the project under a mutual understanding formalised via an agreement dated May 31, 2015.
The MOU drew them into executing the redevelopment of Maitri Gaurav CoopHsg Soc. The project was overseen by Padmavati Maitri Corp LLP.
The FIR states that between 2015 and 2023, the accused lured the complainants by promising flats and fair payment for construction work. The parties entered into a formal MOU/agreement dated May 31, 2015, under which the complainant's firms carried out substantial construction work at several buildings.
Over next two years, the complainants claimed to execute substantial civil work in multiple wings of the project, valued at over Rs 7.12 crore.
However, they allege that the developer paid only Rs 1.15 crore.
The FIR says Shah and his associates withheld payments and misrepresented facts to society members, withheld documents, and conspired to deprive the complainants of their rightful stake in the project.
Patel also alleged that eight of nine flats reserved for the contractor's companies were illegally sold without consent, while the project remained incomplete, causing Rs 5.97 crore loss.
