Amruta Vaidya apointed new Country Manager of Coca-Cola Ireland
Coca-Cola has announced the appointment of Amruta Vaidya as Country Manager of Coca-Cola Ireland. Ms Vaidya will be responsible for leading the growth of the company locally and for product marketing for the company's portfolio in Ireland. She replaces Agnese Filippi who was recently appointed as Country Manager for Coca-Cola in Sweden. The Coca-Cola System, comprised of The Coca-Cola Company and its bottling partner Coca-Cola HBC, employ over 1,500 people across the island of Ireland. The Coca-Cola system on the island contributes €3.66 billion to national economic output in the Republic of Ireland and €2.48 billion in Northern Ireland. Ms Vaidya joined Coca-Cola in 2017 and brings more than 20 years' experience in global FMCG sector. Most recently, she served as the company's Country Manager for Norway and Iceland, she has also held leadership roles across Franchise Operations, Marketing and General management in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. "I'm thrilled to take up the role of Country Manager and build on The Coca-Cola Company's exceptional track record of success in Ireland," said Ms Vaidya. "Along with our bottling partner, we strive to meet the evolving needs of our customers while bringing Real Magic to communities around the country through innovative digital experiences and meaningful connections.

Vaidya urges students to embrace science

"Develop our own scientific perspective without being afraid of science and with a studious attitude," he said, citing the recently tested missile as an example of the synergy between science and technology. Vaidya emphasised India's historical scientific legacy, noting that science is embedded in everyday activities, such as in kitchens, and in ancient practices like the Vedic calendar, which accurately uses the moon and sun's rotation. He advocated teaching science in the traditional Vedic way, stating, "India is a country with a scientific outlook beyond the past." The event, held at VNIT, saw participation from notable figures, including Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries University (MAFSU) Vice Chancellor Nitin Patil, Nagpur University Pro-Vice Chancellor Subhash Kondawar, and Vigyan Bharati national executive member Naresh Chaphekar. The workshop honoured winners of the Student Science Festival and selected participants from the science sanskar camp. MAFSU VC Nitin Patil highlighted science's transformative power, saying, "Things that were considered impossible yesterday were made possible by science moving forward." He noted that scientific advancements, from TV remotes to Covid vaccines and cutting-edge weapons, dispelled ignorance and revealed truths. Vigyan Bharati coordinator Professor Kishore Bhurchandi explained the concept of 'Vigyan Abhigna', emphasising the organisation's role in fostering scientific awareness among youth. Secretary Prakash Itankar encouraged students to pursue their interests and share knowledge through "teaching and learning." The workshop began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and included in-depth sessions at the Adhyayavaka Prabhya School at the Institute of Technology Nagpur. Vasundhara Sathe introduced the programme, while Prakash Soni, President of Soni Polymer and guest of honour, praised Vigyan Bharati's efforts. "Remain devoted to science throughout your lives and start innovative businesses," Soni advised students, recalling India's ancient title of "Soneki Chidiya" due to its scientific dominance. Naresh Chaphekar highlighted Vigyan Bharati's 38 branches across India, including Vidarbha, and its national and international contributions. The workshop concluded on May 20, leaving participants inspired to embrace science.

Home for endosulfan victims to be built in Bhatkal village

The situation worsens after their parents' death, leaving them without proper care. The home for the endosulfan victims will accommodate both affected individuals and their parents. Bhatkal taluk currently has over 500 endosulfan-affected residents. Minister of fisheries, ports, and inland water transport Vaidya directed officials to resolve public grievances promptly, warning against making citizens visit offices repeatedly. He emphasised that the Janaspandana programme aims to deliver govt services directly to citizens without intermediaries. The minister confirmed that all applications from the previous five district-level Janaspandana programmes were resolved. Future programmes will be conducted in each taluk to spare citizens from travelling to distant district centres. Officials will visit localities to address concerns directly. District commissioner Lakshmipriya reported that 941 district-level and 975 taluk-level applications were successfully resolved from previous meetings. She announced the upcoming launch of six Indira Canteens, distribution of appointment orders to 34 permanent staff, equipment worth Rs 93 lakh for differently-abled persons, laptops for village administrators, and various pension orders. "While clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made," the cricketer wrote. Taking a dig at the cricketer, Vaidya said, "Aaj ke baad aisa ho sakta hai ki algorithm bohot saare photos like karde jo maine nahi kare. So jo bhi ladki ho, please don't do PR around it because it is not my mistake. It is Instagram's mistake, okay?" The singer further informed that Kohli blocked him on Instagram.
