Man shot to death at northeast OKC motel the 19th homicide of 2025, police say
No arrests had been made Tuesday in a fatal Monday night shooting outside a troubled motel in northeast Oklahoma City, police say.
Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department responded shortly before 11:10 p.m. Monday at the Relax Inn, 2211 NE 23rd St., where police had received a 911 call about a person hit by gunfire. In a brief news release early Tuesday, the department said they found the victim in a grassy area on the motel grounds.
David Hinds Jr., 48, appeared to have been shot to death, according to police. Capt. Valerie Littlejohn also said the motive for the shooting remained unknown as of Tuesday afternoon. Police are asking anyone with information to call the department's homicide tip-line at 405-297-1200.
