The family-friendly event was filled with live music and activities for the kids to enjoy such as a bouncy house. All proceeds from the Siouxland Food Festival go directly to purchasing food for the community experiencing food insecurity.
'The need is up in our community, and we are just trying to make sure that we meet that need, and that we can be here for everyone that needs us,' said Valerie Peterson with the Food Bank of Siouxland. 'Our organization is for the community by the community.'
Food Bank of Siouxland's goal is to raise $40,000 from the event.
