Riot Games has released the latest set of Valorant patch notes, with update 10.08 bringing some reasonable nerfs to both Yoru and Astra as well as the ability to gift skins to other players if you are feeling a little generous.
The Valorant patch notes aren't massive, with only three significant agent changes, one of which is more of a quality of life change than a balance change, but they will likely have an impact on the top agents at all levels.
The two big nerfs come to Yoru and Astra, and while both are reasonably simple number changes, they could end up having an impact in how viable each agent is. For Yoru, his nerf comes in the form of a two second nerf to the duration of his Dimensional Drift ultimate, and a one point cost increase for it as well. This should tone down how useful his ultimate can be, and just how often you will see it in each game. Given how strong he can be in some situations, this should help bring him in line with other agents.
Astra on the other hand also gets a nerf, but this one could be slightly less significant. Astra's Nova Pulse stun duration is being reduced by 0.5 seconds, going from 4 seconds to 3.5 seconds. While not a major nerf, this should reduce how useful she can be when it comes to controlling others, and brings her more in line with other Valorant agents who have similar abilities.
The only other agent based change comes to Brimstone, with some audio tweaks to his Molotov that should make it easier to hear, especially when under a smoke. This is all part of the drive to make abilities more obvious and to reduce the cheap deaths you feel you couldn't do anything about.
The Valorant 10.08 patch notes also bring a big list of bug fixes for almost all agents in the game. There are too many to list here, so you'll need to check out the full patch notes to see them all, but some of the more pesky and annoying ones have been taken care of.
Rounding out the patch is the hotly anticipated launch of skin gifting, which comes to Valorant for the first time. Starting with the first bundle of the Act, you can now gift the featured store item to friends if you are feeling generous, with further gifting options expected to come in the following months should this option become popular. It actually seems like a simple process, with just a couple of extra button presses when buying the skin in order to gift it to a pal.
