Police searching for ‘possibly armed,' endangered missing 46-year-old man
Do you know this man? [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Vandalia Police are looking for Robert Crisp, 46, after they found a vehicle belonging to him on May 11 in the area of Northwoods Boulevard, according to a social media post. 'He lives in Miami Township and may have been seen on a surveillance camera in Butler Township off Old Springfield Rd,' the department said on Facebook. 'Crisp may be suffering from a mental health crisis and is possibly armed.' He is 6 feet, one inch tall, and weighs 245 pounds. Crisp may be wearing long pants and a long-sleeved jacket or shit. Have you seen a Facebook post about a missing officer named Carolyn Lynch? [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] If so, Vandalia Police say the information is false and a scam, according to a social media post. A post circulating on Facebook claims that an officer named Carolyn Lynch has gone missing and urges users to spread the word. 'The accounts will then be used to push out other scams and links involved in fraudulent activity,' the department said. 'These posts will be in the form of missing children, suspects on surveillance, cutting off catalytic converters, or other items which people share frequently.' The post usually will return with information about it being false. The department added that if there was a missing person, they would make an official post on their Facebook page. Vandalia announces new police chief
The City of Vandalia has announced the new Police Chief. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Monday the City announced that Vandalia Police Captain Brandon Sucher will be taking over as the next police chief. 'It was an intensive interview process for police chief,' Althouse said. 'Brandon brings a strong skill set that meets the expectations of police chief, including a strong community focus, strategic agency goals & vision, and a desire to continue the police department's 'Tradition of Excellence'.' Sucher joined the Vandalia Division of Police in 2021. He also worked with the Trotwood Police Department and Huber Heights Division of Police, where he served as patrol officer, liaison officer, and patrol sergeant.
