Sheena Bajaj and Rohit Purohit on pregnancy: It was long awaited
Actor-couple Sheena Bajaj and Rohit Purohit took to Instagram today to announce their pregnancy. They have been married for six years. Talking to us about it, Sheena adds, "It is the happiest phase for us! Long-awaited, after a few tough years where I was struggling with multiple health issues and we both as a couple wanted to take our family forward, but jab hona hota hai tab hi hota hai. And it is no less than a miracle for us.' The actor says she wanted to share the big news from day one, 'Of course, mujhe batana tha, but the first trimester tested me. With constant vomiting and nausea, I couldn't even sit for long.' The couple decided to wait until Sheena felt a little better to make the news public. She states, 'I was tired of being isolated. I had stopped going out because I have a slightly bigger baby bump (laughs), so it became more obvious. Though I still feel we spread the word a little early, as I am now in my fourth month and usually people take more time to announce. Nevertheless, we both knew that our well-wishers would support us throughout this phase.' For Rohit, it was an emotional moment when the doctor disclosed Sheena's pregnancy. He says, 'Sheena had left her last show Vanshaj in July last year, and our full focus was on having our baby. It did take time, as on January 22, we completed six years of marriage, and as we stepped into our seventh year, the desire for a baby was even stronger in our hearts.'

Rohit Purohit and Sheena Bajaj Sheena Bajaj and Rohit Purohit , who tied the knot in January 2019, are excited to announce that they are expecting their first child. The couple, who are currently in their fourth month of pregnancy, shared the news on Instagram today, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya. Speaking exclusively about the joyful news, Sheena says, 'I conceived at the end of January, just a few days after our sixth wedding anniversary. Rohit has always loved kids and has wanted to have a child for the longest time. When we decided to start our family, we didn't expect it to take as long as it did.' Rohit, currently seen as the male lead in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai , adds, 'I was in shock at first. Once the news sank in, I had tears of joy in my eyes. I couldn't react properly and had to leave for a shoot. We waited for the doctor's confirmation and the sonography. I've always wanted to become a father since we got married, and now it's finally happening." He continues, 'I'm hoping for a daughter, one with a nature that's a perfect blend of Sheena's and mine. I'm excited to take care of her. While I feel mentally prepared to be a father, nothing can truly prepare you until the baby arrives. I guess time will teach me everything I need to know.' Sheena shares her experience during the first few months of pregnancy. She says, 'The moment you see the positive result; it's the happiest feeling after waiting for so long. But as you pass the five-week mark, reality hits. For me, it was a difficult phase, with extreme nausea, vomiting, and fatigue that left me bedridden for almost three-and-a-half months. Things only started to stabilise by week 13.' She adds, 'I didn't expect the symptoms to be so intense. I've gone through several surgeries before, including a period when I was paralysed before working on Vanshaj , but nothing was as painful as this phase. I think the pregnancy took a bit longer due to my PCOD, which led to infertility and other complications.' The actress, last seen in Vanshaj, admits that she's feeling a mix of emotions. 'I'm actually quite scared. It requires a lot of strength, especially getting through the first few weeks. Rohit is absolutely thrilled. Every day, he talks to the baby, asking it to come soon, but I tell him to be patient and let the baby take its time (laughs!). He's always talking to my belly, while I have to be extra cautious due to my surgeries,' she concludes.
