In a disturbing turn of events, the family of an army officer stationed at the India-Pakistan border finds itself trapped in a state of fear and helplessness in their hometown in Barielly, Uttar Pradesh. Captain Vasrat Ali's family has reportedly stopped stepping outside their home, fearing relentless harassment by local bullies.
Captain Ali, who recently returned home on leave, was abruptly called back to duty following the recent Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent launch of Operation Sindoor. The sudden cancellation of his leave left his wife, Anjum, and their daughters vulnerable to ongoing threats from local troublemakers, who have allegedly made their lives a daily nightmare.
Anjum told reporters that the bullies target her every time she ventures outside, subjecting her to verbal abuse and intimidation. When she filed complaints at the local police station, the situation worsened. 'When I sought police protection, I was threatened by these criminals who warned they could forcibly take me and my daughters away from our home," she revealed.
The distressing claims include the bullies circulating her photographs on social media with malicious intent and extorting what she describes as ' goonda tax" on multiple occasions. The woman expressed deep anguish at being forced to live like a widow in her own house while her husband serves the nation at the border.
The police have begun investigating the allegations against the accused, but until effective security is provided, the family remains trapped in fear.
