COIMBATORE: Coimbatore district collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar on Friday felicitated tribal girl students R Malliga and Deivika S who passed out of Velliangadu Govt Higher Secondary School with good marks in
Class XII state board exams

The collector honoured the students with shawls, presented them with books and assured them of necessary support.
The students scored 539 and 522 marks respectively in Class XII examinations and were seeking financial assistance and guidance.
Malliga, who topped her school, is the first student from Bhagavathi Amman Kovil, a tribal hamlet, to pass the Class XII board exams. Their struggles were highlighted in a report published in TOI on Friday.

During the meeting at the collectorate, Deivika informed the collector that she had written
NEET
and aspired to become a doctor. The collector assured her of the necessary support and guidance.
He asked Malliga about the course she wished to pursue.

career guidance programme
scheduled for May 19 in Karamadai.
Chief educational officer R Balamurali, school headmaster Socrates Kulasekaran S and teacher Arul Siva accompanied the students.
