Vanessa's mission to inspire and empower
At just 25 years old, a determined young woman, Vanessa Pitsi, is paving her way to success – not only in academics, but also in the world of pageantry.
Currently pursuing her Master's degree in Human Resource Management at Tshwane University of Technology, she aspires to become a lecturer and use her knowledge to shape future generations.
'My passion for pageantry was ignited by a desire to challenge societal norms and represent women who are often labeled as 'too much' or 'not enough' – too smart, too outspoken, too ambitious. For me, the stage is more than a display of beauty; it is a platform where intelligence, confidence, and purpose coexist. Through pageantry, I have found a space where I can embrace my multiple identities – as an academic, a creative, and a confident young woman, while inspiring others to do the same,' said Venessa as she describes what inspired her to do pageantry.
As she continues to break barriers, she is preparing for the Miss Winter Angels South Africa finale, set to take place on July 5, in Johannesburg.
She hopes that her presence in the competition will serve as motivation for young girls, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, showing them that they, too, can claim a space in the industry. Beyond the competition, her mission remains clear: Advocating for authentic representation and inclusivity in pageantry.
'The world of pageants has shaped me in ways I never anticipated. It has pushed me beyond my comfort zone, taught me how to articulate my purpose, and encouraged me to lead with empathy. Public speaking, confidence, and remaining grounded in my values have become essential skills I have honed through each stage of experience. Pageantry is not just about external beauty; it is about self-discovery, embracing strengths, and learning from challenges,' said Vanessa proudly.
She actively uses her platform to shed light on issues that matter to young women, including education, self-worth, mental wellness, and career empowerment.
Through her weekly vlogs and social media presence, she shares the highs and lows of her journey, showing others that imperfection does not diminish one's power.
Whether speaking at schools or participating in community events, her goal remains to uplift and encourage young women to embrace their full potential.
Her journey is more than a personal pursuit – it is a movement for representation, education, and empowerment.
As she continues to make strides in both academia and pageantry, she hopes that her story will resonate with those working tirelessly to make their dreams a reality, proving that with determination and purpose, anything is possible.
