Students evacuated from Ventura High School due to reported bomb threat
Students were evacuated from Ventura High School on Friday afternoon following reports of a bomb on campus, authorities said.
'We have been in touch with Ventura High families, but are getting numerous calls from other schools, so we want to make our community aware that Ventura High School is currently responding to a reported bomb threat,' the Ventura Unified School District said in a statement.
Dozens of law enforcement officers responded to the school, and aerial footage showed them escorting children from classrooms to a school parking lot.
'Please avoid the area at this time to allow law enforcement to do their work,' the district said. 'Student and staff safety is our top priority.'
No injuries were reported.
The district said that it would update parents and staff through ParentSquare.
'We want to thank our students and staff for following all law enforcement directions and lockdown protocols,' district officials said.
