Brazil Billionaire Family Bids to Take Over France's Verallia
Brazil's billionaire Moreira Salles family is bidding to take over French packaging company Verallia SA to help one if its key investments better navigate rising trade tensions. The family is offering €30 ($32.42) per Verallia stock it doesn't already own, it said Monday. Already the top shareholder, it pledged to keep Verallia headquartered and listed in Paris. The manufacturer said its board of directors will examine the offer in detail.

Jan 31 (Reuters) - Brazil's billionaire Moreira Salles family is exploring a potential take-private bid for French glass packaging producer Verallia SA ( opens new tab, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. A representative for BWSA, the Moreira Salles family office, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Verallia declined to comment.
