2 Vestavia Hills City Schools impacted Monday due to Sunday morning storms
VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — Two schools in the Vestavia Hills City School System will be cancelled or delayed Monday due to the impact of Sunday morning's storms.
Sunday morning, the City of Vestavia Hills announced on Facebook that a portion of Merryvale Road was closed due to sections of the pavement eroding. Vestavia Hills Elementary West will be closed Monday due to flooding and cleanup efforts both at the school and on Merryvale Road.
The school system has not yet determined if school will be impacted Tuesday.
The Vestavia Hills High School Freshman Campus will operate on a two-hour delay Monday due to a power outage. The school's exam schedule for the day can be found here.
