Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, will lay a wreath and deliver remarks alongside the Honourable Jill McKnight, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, representatives from The Royal Canadian Legion and other dignitaries. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier stands as a powerful symbol of remembrance, representing the more than 120,000 Canadians who gave their lives in service to peace and freedom. It is a memorial for all who served in the navy, army, air force and merchant marine, and those who may serve in the future.
