Monroe County honors service for National Vietnam Veterans Day
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Veterans Outreach Center hosted a National Vietnam Veterans Day Event Friday honoring those who made it home, and the over 58,000 who never did. Saturday marks National Vietnam Veterans Day which was first proclaimed by President Barack Obama in 2012 before being signed into law in 2017 by President Donald Trump. During Friday's event, Mayor Malik Evans and County Executive Adam Bello proclaimed National Veterans Day in Monroe County. Knighthawks and Veterans Outreach Center hosting Military Appreciation Night
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Knighthawks are teaming up with the Veterans Outreach Center to host Military Appreciation Night for Saturday's game. Festivities include an American flag giveaway to the first 1,000 fans, and 2,000 co-branded mini-flags featuring the Knighthawks military-jersey design will also be distributed as a pregame giveaway.
