Picture Credit: X Pooja Hegde is playing the female lead in the Thalapathy Vijay starrer 'Jana Nayagan,' which is supposedly his final outing on the silver screen before he makes his full-fledged entry into politics. The actress recently shared an update about the film on social media. On her Instagram stories, Pooja Hegde confirmed that she has completed her part of the film. She posted a warm selfie where she's seen smiling brightly in a red and cream knitted coat. She captioned the image, "And with today's shoot, it's a wrap for me on Jana Nayagan (heart emoji)." 'Jana Nayagan' is Vijay's 69th film as a lead actor and is expected to be his last cinematic outing. The film's title translates to "People's Hero," and the poster revealed earlier shows it to be based on a political, societal, and action-driven movie. It was officially launched in September 2024 under the working title 'Thalapathy 69' and was later revealed as 'Jana Nayagan' in January 2025. The film also includes 'Animal' fame Bobby Deol , who will be playing the antagonist, and also features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Shruti Haasan, Narain, Mamitha Baiju, Monisha Blessy, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in supporting roles.
