Janki Navami celebrated with fervour in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi: Janki Navami was celebrated with religious zeal and grandeur at several Ram-Sita temples across Sitamarhi district on Tuesday. The main events took place at the Janki Temple in Sitamarhi town and at Punaura Dham , attracting large crowds and vibrant festivities.A grand Shobha Yatra (procession), with participants dressed in colourful traditional attire and chanting Vedic hymns, passed through the town. Over 10,000 devotees took part in the procession. The entire town was adorned with lights and flowers. Various cultural performances, including Ram Lila, were also district administration, in collaboration with the department of art, culture and youth affairs, conducted religious events in which groups from Ayodhya also participated. "People thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations," officials Vibhushan Swami Sri Rambhadracharya, head of the Tulsi Peeth, delivered a musical discourse on the Ram Katha over nine days, which concluded on from both India and Nepal paid their respects at the temples. Several Indian pilgrims also visited Janakpur Dham in Nepal to offer prayers at the Nav Lakha Ram-Janaki Temple. They expressed delight in seeing the kingdom of King Janak from the Treta Yuga in present-day MP Devesh Chandra Thakur said efforts are on with the ministry of railways to start a direct superfast train service from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya Dham. "We are committed to strengthening the Ramayana Circuit," he social activist and former principal Anand Kishore called on the government to rename Sitamarhi as "Sitamarhi Dham".
