Edinburgh path remains cordoned off for rest of week amid ongoing investigation
Police taped off a section of an Edinburgh path in relation to an 'ongoing investigation'.
An Edinburgh footpath has been cordoned off by police after an investigation was launched.
A section of Roseburn Path, between Roseburn Terrace and Ravelston Dykes, was closed off to the public due to the incident. Residents have been provided alternative routes by officers.
The nature of the investigation has not yet been confirmed by police, reports Edinburgh Live.
SNP Councillor for Inverleith, Vicky Nicolson, posted online: "The section of Roseburn Path between the footbridge at Roseburn Terrace up to Ravelston Dykes is still closed to the public due to an ongoing police incident.
"I have been in touch with Police Scotland who say it is likely to be closed for the rest of the week. Police Scotland are aware of the inconvenience and they appreciate the patience of local residents and path users.
"Thanks to everyone who has been in touch about this. I hope you have found alternative routes which don't add too much time and stress to your commute."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said on Thursday: "Officers are carrying out enquiries in the Roseburn Path area of Edinburgh in connection with an ongoing investigation.
"There is no threat to the wider public."
Police confirmed there was no update to the situa tion when asked on Tuesday morning.
