Single-lane closures scheduled for Victory Boulevard Widening Project
YORK CO., Va. (WAVY) – Starting June 9, long-term single-lane closures will be in effect on Victory Boulevard as a part of the Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) roadway widening project. The left westbound lane between Hampton Highway and George Washington Memorial Highway will be closed, as well as the inside left-turn lane between Victory Boulevard and George Washington Memorial Highway. The closures are expected to be in place through early July, with additional closures on Victory Boulevard from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. when needed. Man hospitalized after self-inflicted gunshot wound in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A man is injured following a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon, according to police. Portsmouth police responded to a call for a shooting in the 4000 block of Victory Boulevard at approximately 3:26 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a self-inflicted, non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the public is not in any danger. There is no further information available currently. Continue to check for updates.
