Vidarbha Pro T20 League: Aryan Meshram firing fifty helps Neco Master Blaster register first win
Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], June 8 (ANI): Neco Master Blaster registered a thumping 9-wicket win over Nagpur Titans in the Vidarbha Pro T20 League following Aryan Meshram's match-winning knock. Neco Master Blaster chased down a target of 133 with 25 balls to spare on Saturday. Nagpur Titans, batting first, were restricted to 132/6 in their 20 overs. Neco Master Blaster openers easily chased down the target to register their first win. Aryan Meshram from Akola played a sensational unbeaten knock of 85 off just 53 balls, smashing 9 boundaries and 5 sixes. Vedant Dighade gave solid support with a steady 41. The duo's 127-run stand sealed an emphatic win for the Master Blasters, giving them a major boost in net run rate and confidence going forward. Speaking after the match, Aryan Meshram said as quoted by the Neco Master Blaster press release, 'Plan was to see how the wicket behaves so I first saw the few balls and then when I got to know about it, I unleashed my natural game. We though of rotating the strike. Yesterday I felt very bad (after defeat in first match) but now we want to every match like this.' Earlier in the day, Nagpur Titans' innings got off to a shaky start with Aniruddha Choudhari falling for a golden duck. Captain Akshay Wadkar provided some resistance with a fluent 36 off 26 balls before retiring hurt. Jagjot Sasan kept the innings steady with a 45-run knock, but lack of acceleration in the middle overs hurt the Titans. Praful Hinge was the pick of the bowlers for Neco Master Blaster, finishing with 3 wickets and breaking the back of Nagpur's middle order. Neco Master Blaster will meet Nagpur Heroz on Sunday. Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], June 7 (ANI): Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and India wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma, who is captaining NECO Master Blaster, in the ongoing Vidarbha Pro T20 League, feels that the batting unit needs to step up their game following the loss in the first match. Bharat Rangers clinched a tense 23-run win over NECO Master Blaster in the Vidarbha Pro T20 League match on Friday. Leading the side, Jitesh Sharma too was not able to make a mark, but the batter is confident of doing well in the coming games. 'This is a learning phase for us in the Vidarbha League. It is our first year, and naturally, there will be mistakes--but what is important is that we learn and improve. The IPL is a different league altogether and cannot be compared directly, but we can definitely raise our standards and skill levels here,' said Jitesh after the match, as per a press release from NECO Master Blaster. 'Yes, there were mistakes today, especially with the bat, but we want to focus on the positives. We bowled really well, but the batting unit needs to take more responsibility. As a player and captain, I just want to see the youngsters enjoying the game and growing through the experience,' he added. NECO Master Blaster will lock horns with Nagpur Titans on Saturday before meeting Nagpur Heroz on Sunday. The men's team will be led by Jitesh Sharma, the dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman who recently played a pivotal role in RCB's historic IPL title win. The experienced R Sanjay has been appointed vice-captain, adding further balance to a talented lineup brimming with young and emerging cricketers.
