Randy Hayman named new Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans executive director
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans has announced a new executive director after a search that began back in February when the previous director, Ghassan Korban, announced his departure.

According to the SWBNO, Randy Hayman has now been selected after being named as a finalist in the running on April 15.
Hayman previously served as the commissioner and CEO of the Philadelphia Water Department, as well as general counsel for DC Water and Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. Hayman also has experience as a partner with Beveridge and Diamond PC, the United States' oldest and largest environmental law firm.
While in leading in Philadelphia, three billion gallons of pollution were reportedly removed from the water before it could reach streams and rivers. He also played a lead role in the integration of smart meters across every home in the state.
Changes coming to Ponchatoula Strawberry Fest
'He is coming at a critical time for our utility, as we prepare to complete our power complex, which will provide more reliable energy to fuel our pumps, and as we make headway on our lead service line replacement program,' said New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell.
The interim director for the SWBNO will be Ron Spooner, the previous interim general superintendent. Hayman's start date will reportedly be announced in the coming krewe set to join 2026 New Orleans carnival season
