CODA is set to host Hoops for Hope 3×3 basketball tournament

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— CODA is set to host its Hoops for Hope 3×3 basketball tournament at the Chances and Services for Youth gymnasium. There are currently 8 teams that will be competing in this single elimination tournament. All of the money raised during this event will go towards funding programs within CODA. Its director of operations Shay Butler says this event will be a good time for the whole family. Vigo County CASA and Texas Roadhouse team up to help children 'I know some great basketball players from both high schools along with at the college level, and we saw this as a fun way to raise money for the community,' said Butler. This event will be on Saturday, March 29th at 11 a.m. Cost of admission will be 5 dollars for everyone 13 and older and free for everyone ages 12 and below. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Vigo County CASA celebrates 40 years

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— After starting in 1985, Vigo County CASA is celebrating its 40 year anniversary. The program is made up of specially trained community volunteers who advocate for children in the juvenile court system, due to being abused or neglected. They have recruited and trained hundreds of dedicated volunteers from in and around the Wabash Valley. At monday night's event, they announced their volunteer of the year, which is Connie Ralston. They also recognized staff member of the year, which is Renee Zigler, along with two other honorary staff members, Danielle Arnold and Tiffany Clark. Sullivan Co. CASA; the voice of abused & neglected kids 'I am humbled that I get to work every day with these amazing individuals who are doing just amazing things that people don't see,' said Vigo County CASA Director Glenna Cheesman.
