Bokaro: Around 30,000 bank accounts remain unlinked with Aadhaar, hindering direct benefit transfer (DBT) to beneficiaries of govt schemes in Bokaro district, deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav said, while evaluating the performance of Aadhaar creation centres and ongoing camps for the cards, on Friday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Chairing a meeting of the Aadhaar monitoring committee at the district collectorate, Jadhav directed the manager of the lead bank in the district to organise special camps to resolve the issue. Jadhav also reviewed the ongoing efforts in this regard and found that Aadhaar services were active in all blocks except in Petarwar. She also instructed the officials to activate suspended machines, set up new centres, promote updates and ensure that all members of eligible age groups get the cards. "Aadhaar-related services are currently being provided in 8 block offices, 9 BRC centres, 26 bank branches and 81 post offices. In the recent special camps, mobile number corrections and data updates were done for 15,000 Aadhaar cards while 2,000 new Aadhaar cards were generated," she informed. Jadhav emphasised providing district-level training to new staff and fast-tracking pending state-level cases. To enhance public awareness, the DC said campaigns must be made for updating Aadhaar cards to children older than 10 years and biometric updates for individuals aged 5-7 and 15-17 years. The DC also called for focused camps for PVTG community members and children aged 0–5 years, while ensuring 100% Aadhaar coverage across all age groups. Bokaro/Dhanbad: NEET (UG) examinations 2025 was conducted in a peaceful and malpractice-free environment across eight centres in Bokaro on Sunday. Taking stock of various examination centres, DC Vijaya Jadhav said, "Senior officers, magistrates and police force were deployed at all examination centres in the district. A total of 2,880 candidates were to appear in NEET (UG) examination 2025 in the district, out of which ,2804 candidates appeared and 76 candidates were absent." The eight centres are PM Shri Panchanna Rajbala Plus Two High School Satanpur, District Ramrudra CM School of Excellence Chas Bokaro, Kendriya Vidyalaya Number One Sector Four, Mahavir Ji Plus Two High School Bijulia, Kendriya Vidyalaya CTPS Chandrapura Bokaro, Upgraded Government Plus Two High School Lakarkhanda, PM Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 03 and Plus Two High School Petarwar. BOKARO : During a review of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U) scheme on Saturday, the district administration geared up to launch an intensive campaign to achieve the target of constructing 1,400 new houses allotted for the current financial year. Bokaro deputy commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav instructed wide publicity to invite applications from eligible beneficiaries. The DC also emphasised daily monitoring of housing progress, geo-tag reporting, and timely payment to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme. She chaired a review meeting of the PMAY-U being implemented under the Chas Municipal Corporation. The DC said that she directed officials to expedite the construction of pending houses from various phases including 2015-16, 2016-17 (Phase 2), 2017-18 (Phases 1, 2, 3), 2018-19, 2019-20 (Phases 1 and 2), 2020-21, and 2021-22.

Bokaro: Ahead of the NEET 2025 exam scheduled on May 4, DC Vijaya Jadhav chaired a high-level meeting at the collectorate on Tuesday to review preparations. The DC warned, "Any kind of disorder or malpractice will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty during surprise inspections." DC Jadhav informed that eight exam centres have been designated across the district, where 2,880 candidates will appear. Senior officials will be deployed at each centre, and all guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) must be followed meticulously. The district education officer was instructed to ensure CCTV coverage in every exam room. The exam will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm in a single shift under tight security. Entry checks will be conducted for all candidates, and police forces, along with magistrates, will be stationed at each centre. To maintain order, section 163 will be enforced around exam centres. Raids in hotels and coaching institutes will also be carried out. The DC warned against rumour-mongering and directed strict action against violators. A follow-up meeting will be convened with centre superintendents and concerned officials.
