FREDONIA, Wis. (WFRV) – Shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, deputies stated that the suspect involved in a volatile, roughly 36-hour standoff in southeastern Wisconsin has been taken into custody. According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office, the suspect who was reportedly heavily armed inside his Fredonia residence near Fox Glen Road was finally taken into custody around 11:30 a.m. on May 10. (WFRV) – A volatile standoff in southeastern Wisconsin has now reached roughly 36 hours as authorities say the suspect is heavily armed and is allegedly threatening to kill officers. Authorities with the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office have provided an update to the now multi-day standoff in the Village of Fredonia after hours of negotiations and tactical resources have been unsuccessful in de-escalating the situation. Deputies have since provided some clarity and updates as to how the dangerous situation unfolded, saying it began around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, when Fredonia residents reported hearing multiple gunshots throughout the day. Three arrested in Two Rivers on drug-related felonies following investigation After deputies began to monitor the area of Fox Glen Road, no gunshots were heard. However, around 10:30 p.m., the suspected homeowner was contacted, and they admitted to playing loud music and firing weapons from their home. The suspect then allegedly stated that he was 'going to continue playing music, and if anyone came to his residence, he would shoot them.' Shortly after that call, deputies reportedly heard multiple gunshots coming from the home. After further investigation, deputies determined that he had been firing several different guns in unknown directions, including an automatic rifle, which posed a significant threat to those in the area. In the following hours since the standoff began, deputies have reported the suspect to have made several explicit threats toward law enforcement, allegedly saying 'he'd go full auto' and 'kill anyone who approached.' Deputies say that he had even aimed a rifle at law enforcement armored vehicle at the scene 'multiple times.' Two men arrested after shots fired between vehicles in Wisconsin Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office's latest update was sent out at 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, roughly 36 hours since the standoff began. Throughout those hours, multiple agencies and SWAT teams have been working in shifts, including the Washington County and Milwaukee County SWAT teams. Safety remains the top priority and we will continue to be patient until we can safely end the situation. We're continuing to urge residents to stay away from this area or remain in your homes.
